I am needing to retrieve the device serial number from within Soti Surf. I am attempting to make a call to an api from javascript and the macro will not translate from %SERIALNUM% to the hardware serial number. Any ideas?
in SOTI surf we open an app (Keephup) with which we can share infromation with the company. in this app there is also a chat function with which we can take a picture and send this picture in the chat. now the only problem is that right after uploading the picture Soti surf refresh the page and I can't add the picture. anyone any idea? the refresh settings of SOTI are off, or is there another setting somewhere that needs to be turned off?
I have Soti Surf v. 15.6.0.7-001 and a Zebra device on which a DataWedge profile associated to Surf is created. The web page reads barcodes using the barcode scanner. I only want to use the barcode scanner. Now I get a system keyboard every time I read a code, which I don't need. Is there any way to override this in the Surf settings? Just to add, there are other applications on the device where I need the keyboard, so I can't disable it completely. I would only need to disable it within Surf, and ideally only on one particular web portal - if at some point in the future there is a catalogue of multiple sites and the keyboard is needed on the others. Any idea how to achieve this?
We have Soti Surf setup to be deployed to devices through Profiles. I was testing Zebra OTA updates managed through SOTi, and I have come across a strange behavior. After created the necessary App Polices, SOTi Surf now displays an error message saying that it has not been configured. We have no Policies setup for SOTi surf, so I am not sure what is causing this. I did open a support case but wanted to see if anyone else has come across this. Thanks!
I have successfully configured and gotten the needed url to work in chrome using: intent: myurl.dev.odoo.com#Intent;scheme=https;package=com.android.chrome;end and/or browser:// myurl.dev.odoo.com (also needed to define chrome as an allowed app with Launch://com.android.chrome) BUT: It does not work in SOTI browser as the link requires camera access and SOTI browser sends the allow camera message to the background. Using the above solutions, users have Chrome with full access to the internet, very much not wanted. Is there anyway at all to get browser launched camera permission to work in SOTI browser? The solutions at the start were the work arounds that I found discussed in the forums. Failing that, how to: 1) hide the chrome button in the SOTI Browser app allow list? 2) manage chrome to create an allow list?
Hi for several years we use soti surf as a browser, but today we get strange errors. Kiosk: On multiple devices zebra we get the error pages cannot befound. This is due: http://https:// someone know this behavior? thx Marcel
From the sales department, daily reports are sent to 120 stores that can view the PDF files via a Samsung TAB 7 and SOTI surf. These files are offered on the tab via an app (Kega) and if a file is clicked on, it opens automatically immediately after downloading. Now we also want to start using HTML files and also have them open automatically after the file is downloaded. But when the tablet is in User mode this does not work.If I put the tablet in Admin modes, it does open the HTML file immediately after downloading? So it looks like a permissions problem because it does work under admin mode.Where can I set these permissions correctly Soti mobicontrol Version: 15.6.5.1018
We have a web application that our users login to with their Active Directory credentials. When they open the application with Surf and start to enter credentials, their password is displayed in the suggested text field. When using Chrome, the text suggestion area is blank. These devices are running Android 11 and it was the same with Android 10.
This kind of error is the status quo of SOTI's MDM especially with apple devices. Lots of strange errors. I really wouldn't recommend this for iOS management unless you have no other choice. All of my users are unable to launch soti surf after the 2024 update was pushed a couple of days ago. The application "opens" as if a window is opening and the application immediately closes. These are devices which had a configuration profile for the app with several settings enabled to lock down the browser as we use these to access an internal web page and nothing else. I've tried updating and creating new configuration profiles for the app but they do not apply. It says configuration failed or configuration pending. I am able to apply profiles for other applications and configurations, but not soti surf. I have setup a new ipad from scratch, enrolled in mdm. My existing profile does nothing and gives me an install failed error. After the install failed, I created a brand new profile and attempted to assign it to the ipad and it now has a removal pending of the old install failed profile and a pending install for the new application profile. I've tried checking the device in and nothing happens. I'm on a mobicontrol hosted cloud server version 15.6.3.1018. Does anyone have the same issue? Is there a known configuration combination that must be updated to for this to be supported? There are so many issues with mobicontrol.
I have a customer who cannot use SOTI Surf as it looks like it is acting in desktop mode instead of mobile mode. Is there a configuration option to force it to work in mobile mode, like for example Google Chrome?
Is it possible to enable Android App Links within Soti Surf in order to open a native APK? Alternatively, is there some other way of intercepting a CTA from within Soti Surf in order to open a native APK?
Attempting to configure a profile to access an internal website. When utilizing SOTI Surf the page background appears to load for a split second and then is replaced by a black screen with a white spinning circle as if its trying to load something. Other browsers (Chrome, Edge) have loaded without issue.
Hi, I have a ticket in for this but thought I'd ask here as well. Samsung must have updated their stock keyboard recently with Spotify, Youtube etc functionality. This subverts the purpose of the lockdown for our users. There must be a plain keyboard .apk that does not allow this added functionality Youtube, Spotify. Does this seem like the correct fix for the issue? If so, could someone point me to it and the basics to install it please? Thank you in advance. c
Hello, we have a problem with SOTI Surf on Android 11 When we make a Screenshot, it will show in file system, see /storage/emulated/0/Download/SOTIsurf/0/.temp/IMG_1658912629480.jpg. In a upload forms to send the screen the websites says successfully uploaded, but no picture was upload. The adb log says the errorMediaProvider: Couldn't find file: /storage/emulated/0/Download/SOTIsurf/0/.temp/IMG_1658912629480.jpg Under Android 10 the upload is functional. Under Android 11 the upload is functional with chrome browser. Where is the problem located and how we can fix this error? Technical data: Device Zebra TC77, Android 11, OEM Version 11-23-13.00-RG-U07-STD-HEL-04 SOTI Surf 15.5.1 Build 8 SOTI MoiControl Version: 15.5.1.1010 Thanks in advance.
Hello, We notice a decrease in the battery life of our MC3300 (Oreo) and MC33X (Android10) when we use SOTI Surf. The standby time of the terminals is set to 30min. My customer tells me that the batteries have a life of less than 4 hours.Have you ever noticed a similar problem? Sincerely
