I've followed the steps, create google admin account to manage google chrome (free) generate browser enrollment token, copy and save xml file created a separate app profile, add google chrome, go to managed tab and this is where I'm stuck. it says to upload the xml file but its just a text box. I tried to open the xml file and copy the contents and paste it into the txt box but it keeps coming back as "will only accept xml" and graying out the save button. This is the only thing I can get it to let me save (removed token for security) but I can't tell if that is right because it didn't seem to change anything on my test device. <dict> <key>CloudManagementEnrollmentToken</key> <string>****TOKENSTRING****</string></dict>
I am setting up ipads for children to play games on in public libraries. I am using an App policy to push all the apps to the devices. We are locking down Internet etc so I am using a Profile, using Feature Control to disable things. We do not want passwords on the devices. The problem is when I assign the Feature Control Profile to the device without configuring Authentication in the profile it breaks Mobi Control on the device (It works fine if I add Authentiction to the profile). When you attempt to open Mobi on the device it pops up quickly saying App not configured then closes.
Hopefully someone can help me here. I have created and deployed an Apple device as "user" enrollment which works fine (i can add and enroll profiles which take effect on the device like Wifi for example). My problem now is, I also assigned an app policy where 2 apps are assigned to (previously also "purchased" in the ABM (Mobicontrol Agent and Office 365 for testing)). I can see both apps in the provided webclip for Application catalog (https://serveraddress/mc/mdm/appcatalog/%DeviceIdentifier%) but if i press on "install", for both i get the error message "App can't be installed. Please contact your Administrator." In the webclip for the profile catalog (https://serveraddress/mc/mdm/profile/%DeviceIdentifier%) i get only a blank page. APNS is set up and a test went fine. Did I miss something or is there something related i could have done wrong somewhere?
I'm looking to understand how we can use MobiControl to deploy eSIMs to managed iOS devices, and i cant seem to find any SOTI documentation on it. We have multiple iOS devuces enrolled into MobiControl currently, and would like to roll out an eSIM to each of them. I can see an option in the device actions called 'UPDATE ESIM CELLULAR PLAN' which then asks you to enter the 'Carrier URL'. Is the carrier URL something that we get from the network supplier? And is this unique to each eSIM, or is it a generic URL for all of the eSIMs? If anyone has any experience with rolling out eSIMs via MobiControl in the UK it would be great to hear from you.
I'm just getting to grips with MobiControl - using 15.6 on a cloud-hosted platform. I've set up App Store license management, APNS and ADE. I've created an iOS profile, and I've added our custom app to the MobiControl App for iOS Devices profile. Having created the enrolment profile and attempted to enrol my iPhone, I get as far as installing the trust profile, enabling full trust and downloading the enrolment profile. But this fails with "Profile installation failed - profile failed to install". Not the most helpful error message. Hope someone can help, please. Thank you.
I hope s.o. can help me in this case. We have Soti Mobicontrol as cloud service and want to provide iOS tablets in kiosk mode with only a few apps which are available for the user. Therefore we want to create a custom home screen layout with only the necessary apps. In the documentation from soti https://soti.net/mc/help/v15.6/en/console/configurations/profiles/configurations/categories/other/ios_home_screen_config.html we found the solution. Our problem is that the necesarry option is not displayed. Here is a picture from "other" in our Soti console. The important option Home Screen Layout is missing in our system. Please give me a hint how we could enable this option.
We have around 1000 iPads and now want to carry out an IOS update. Is there a possibility in Soti to automate the IOS update and control the time, e.g. only between 10pm and 4am?
I have configured shared device for Android and iOS. On Android it works. On iOS I login and after MFA, this message appears on both the device screen and in the logs: Failed to authorize user because the user is not permitted in the Shared Device configuration. I'm using the exact same user on both Android and iOS. The configuration for shared device in Advanced configuration is exactly the same on both. Anyone got any ideas why it is working in Android, but not iOS?
Hi All, We are currently setting up 90 ipads and joining them through MDM. We have setup around 4x and then suddenly one of the ipads give the following error: "Profile installation Failed The SCEP server returned an invalid response." We cannot solve this by restarting the ipad, not many actions to perform really. Meanwhile, other ipads configured before and after this problematic ipad have no such problem... Can anyone suggest a solution on how to resolve this? Thank you.
Hi, I would like to know more about using SOTI to deploy mass iPadOS... The iPadOS size is around 5.5GB, it brings concern as we have to update 90 units of iPad in one go... If we are to issue "Update OS" command via SOTI, the following questions come to mind (sorry I cannot test now as I cannot afford to update any of my iPad's OS now): 1) Will SOTI spread the update across a specific time frame to avoid congesting the whole bandwidth? 2) When issuing the command, will it force the iPad to update? Or will it prompt a box and ask for user's consent first? 3) We have set to defer OS update for 90 days, after that period, will iPad be forced to update regardless of its current status? 4) Is there a difference between "scan for OS update" and "update OS"? Thank you for your time.
Hi, We need to disable private mac address for our wireless profiles for iPadOS but I can't seem to find the setting. May I know is this possible by SOTI? If I look at Wi-Fi MDM settings from apple, it seems that setting can be tuned. Do I need to write a custom profile for it? Grateful if anyone can advise on the matter, thank you. Thanks and Regards, Lok
Hello, Currently we couldn't find a way to set a passcode for managed iPadOS devices... After joining the remote management profile, user have to input the password manually. As we want to setup a standard password across all iPads, we need to enforce the password to be a certain value. Please advise how it can be done for iPadOS, thank you. Thanks and Regards, Lok
Hello all,I would like to update Apple devices via the API I use:POST /devices/{deviceId}/actions { "Action": "AppleSoftwareUpdateSchedule"} do I have to add a parameter? as error I always get: { "$type": "ErrorDetails", "ErrorCode": 0, "Message": "Vertragsprüfung fehlgeschlagen", "Data": [ "actionInfo: Error parsing value" ], "HelpLink": null } I hope you can help meThanks
I am evaluating the trial version and trying to enroll an iOS device.. I tried to Install the APNS Certificate from I can't see the option to create new APNS in All Platforms tab > Servers tab > Under the Global Settings How can I resolve this issue.
Hello, android has in his profile configuration the Task Scheduler. Unfortunately iOS doesn't have this configuration. I was looking for an optionto execute scripts for iOS device (example: restart the device). My goal is to execute a restart everyday at a specific time. Is there an option to configure that for iOS devices too? I don't want to use third party apps because i want to manage thiswithin MC. Thank you.
