Hi everyone, What is the best way in SOTI MobiControl to ensure Android Classic devices always have the correct date, time, and time zone? Thanks!
Using a Samsung Galaxy tablet to connect to a monitor and mirror the screen. The tablet is connected via usb-c to hdmi. Once the tablet is placed on Lockdown, the mirroring stops (black screen on the monitor). There are 4 different packages provided in the Device Control that can be added to the homescreen: com.sec.android.desktopmode.uiservice com.sec.android.app.desktoplauncher com.samsung.desktopsystemui com.sec.android.dexsystemui I've added all these several different ways (together, alone,etc) and all provide the same black screen. Also have experimented with com.sec.android.app.dexonpc for possible usb display issues. Is there an easier way to mirror the display? What combo of apps should be used? Does a script need to be involved for all apps that may be deactivated through enable_system_app?
I am running into issues trying to grant the permissions using the Profile for Zebra OEM Config: Is there a prerequisite to using this funcitionality or something I am missing. I don't want to go through the Play store and download the app, I find that the changes are not instant and I have to wait for the PS to push them down to the device. I have used the article here: https://pulse.soti.net/support/soti-mobicontrol/articles/ka2OF0000001nNDYAY But the permissions are not allowing. I have tried two devices and revoked, restarted the device and reinstalled the profile and it is not setting the permissions for: usage access, notification access, system alert window, manage external access These devices are TC78's, A14, running 2025.0.4 SOTI Agent Version.
Hello Team, I am stuck with to understand how the System Update Policy works, as far as my understood this will applicable to only OS version update, but just wanted to know do this also applicable to the applications that are pushed from Google Play store too ? We are looking to install a new monitoring application via apk on our android enterprise HHTs (Zebra TC52X and TC53). It's probably me, but I'm unable to find some proper instructions for installing the package/profile and pass along config parameters automatically -- we'd rather not have to find and touch every device in each location in order to simply scan a QR code. Any help is very appreciated. Thank you.
Hi everyone, i would like to know if any member here does have some experience with these device models when used with soti mobicontrol. since we enrolled them, we have weird issues. they are all fully managed. The issues are e.g. Android Setting "set time automatically" is turned off on some devices. Beeper volume is very low on some devices. We also got two devices that where in airplane mode. We have a soti app package that consists of 3 xml files: DeviceConfig, DataCollectionService, Provisioner With a post install script to run intend command to these files. This executes xml files on the devices and sets the OEM settings from them. The provisioner window is also shown when run. Additionally we have a profile with lockdown and feature control. Lockdown is preventing users to go outside or open quick menu. In feature control everything is active. ---------- Before we enrolled to soti we used the same xml files. The xml settings had to be inserted by scanning a provisioner QR code made from these xml files. Instead of lockdown we used the honeywell launcher. In this previous scenario we did not have any of the above mentioned issues. Thank you for your time. regards
I added my iPhone using Apple Configurator, and it's visible in the Apple Business Management device list . Now, MobiControl has successfully added the device . However, when I try to send a message, I get the message: "1 selected device(s) do not have the MobiControl Agent installed, or have not accepted its terms & conditions in-app." What steps do I need to take to successfully send the message?
For Androind Enterprise managed devices, is there a way to remove the app cache and data when the app closes or exits or at a certain time interval?

Hello, I am currently performing tests on the Zebra TC56, TC15, and TC57 models. On the TC15 and TC57 devices, the SIM card numbers are displayed correctly on the console. However, the SIM card number is not visible on the TC56 model. The Android versions of the devices are as follows: TC56: Android 8 (cannot be upgraded to a higher version) TC57: Android 13 TC15: Android 15 Could you please advise on the reason why the SIM card number is not displayed on the TC56 device? I would appreciate your support on this matter.
Hello ! We have set up a reactive profile for iOS. I want to enforce the use of a passcode on the iPhone, but without it expiring. In Configurations > Passcode, I have therefore selected a minimum length, but there is also the ‘maximum passcode age’ setting, which, according to the documentation, accepts values from 0 to 730... but I cannot select 0. If I enter ‘0’, it reverts to ‘1’, and the passcode needs to be changed every day... I simply want to disable the expiry, but this does not seem to be possible. Does anyone know why, whether I am doing something wrong or if it is a bug? I wanted to add a screenshot to this post but I keep getting a 400 error :-) I should point out that we are not yet Mobicontrol customers; we are currently in a trial period on a trial licence, which expires in a few days, so I cannot create a ticket. Hi all, I just upgraded to MobiControl 2026.1 (OnPrem) and am now facing the problem that filesync policies are expecting me to use the predefined "Root" directory. In the documentation I saw a feature called File Manager, but it only seems to be available with a cloud instance.On second glance the feature per default only allows local root paths within the directory C:\Mobicontrol.I would like to use the folder that is already set up on another drive on the server (D:\). My question would have been, if it is possible to have this feature in the onprem version or if I have to change the Root directory via the MobiControl DB.But it seems most likely to me that I will have to change the default root in the DB, unless anyone knows of a better option. To set a new root I would change the value of the entry "FileManagementFolder" or "FileStorageBoundaryPath" in the Settings.dbo to the folder where all the files for the existing sync rules are now.
Hi all, We are in a bit of a pickle regarding Shared Device mode using EntraID Currently we have this setup:User Logs into device using their EntraID and passwordSet Session PIN is promptedOnce connection to Entra is made, device moves to Post-Lockdown screen folder.I have configured the Post-Lockdown screen so users cannot shut down the device without signing out first. This ensures the user signs out, the PIN is cleared, and the device is ready for the next user tomorrow.Here is the problemThere have been instances where devices have powered off due to battery depletion or similar issues. As a result, the device shut down while the previous user was still logged in.When the device is then charged and turned on, some users have forgotten the PIN they used, or its another user whos grabed the device and they do not know the PIN.Because the Device PIN initiates BEFORE the SOTI MDM, it shows the device as Offline and I am unable to clear the passcodeThis is a big issue and is basically bricking devicesHas anyone found a way around this?
