Step-by-step instructions for the required setup and configuration to enable seamless authentication via SOTI Identity for Dropbox.
Process Description
Before You Begin:
- The user must have Dropbox Business Plus.
- The user must have a SOTI Identity admin account or equivalent privileges.
Tip: Contact SOTI Support to access this feature for your SOTI Identity tenant or specific users.
Steps:
1. Login into your SOTI Identity tenant as the tenant administrator.
2. From the main menu, and select Applications.
3. Select the '+' sign and add a new SAML application.
4. Enter a user-friendly application name and leave the other default values.
5. For SAML Audience, add Dropbox or any other suitable name.
6. For SAML Consumer URL, Add "https://www.dropbox.com/saml_login".
7. Leave the other default values.
8. Under Map attributes, select '+' sign and add a new attribute named "email" and map it to "Email Address".
9. Save this configuration. You can later download the required files such as the Metadata File or the certificate by selecting Metadata downloads.
10. Login to your Dropbox account as the account administrator and follow these Dropbox SSO instructions to configure the connection.
- The recommendation is to set Single Sign On to Optional while you are configuring. By doing this, if there are any issues with the configuration, users are not locked out of the application.
- For the Identity Provider Sign-in URL, review the Metadata file downloaded from your newly added SAML application in SOTI Identity. Copy the location URL for
SingleSignOnService
as shown in the screenshot below: - For the X.509 Certificate, upload the Identity certificate (in
.pem
format) downloaded from your newly added SAML application in SOTI Identity.
11. Return to SOTI Identity tenant. Assign the Dropbox application to user/user groups to allow users to seamlessly sign into the application alongside other SOTI ONE applications. See the SOTI Identity documentation for more details on assigning users to applications.
