Does any have any experience using the Mobicontrol APIs for a development pipeline? Our development team wants to automate the process of loading android APKs into Mobicontrol. While I understand the process adding a new version through the Web Console, I have no idea what it would look like using scripts and the APIs. I assume the process would be somewhat similar, add the package, then update the profile with the new version of the application but I am unsure.I currently use the package manager to add pre-install script. How would that play into this? Looking for some insight. If you have done this, how well does it work?
I see the command ""Reset /W /delay 0" and I can run that script from the console scripts however I would like to put in a button on a decom lock screen that when a device is put in Decom mode a new lock screen is presented that gives a button to wipe device. One of our Companies will start having techs onsite in the next few months that will be working on replacing our aging fleet of Tab Active 2 devices with the Tab Active 3. We will be sending the 2's to a recycling center and need to make sure they are wiped before sending them off. Please let me know if the command above is supposed to work when called from a script on the lock screen or not. Thanks, Allen
Good afternoon. Some of our Android Enterprise devices have started updating to Android 12. Our devices are Samsung Tab A7 Lite. I checked our Enterprise profile which contains our feature control and configurations. I was not able to find an option to Disable OS upgrades. We also have older devices enrolled in Android Plus and the feature control for this profile does have an option to disable OS upgrades. Is there a policy script I could send to our Enterprise Tab A7 lite to disable the upgrade? I am okay if the script expires after a set number of days. I am going to continue reading through the forums to see if I can find a good solution. I am also wondering if there is a script available to disable the new android 12 permissions setting "Remove permissions if app is unused"
Good Morning! I am wanting to allow certain permissions for several apps without having to go into the device settings. Permissions I am wanting to allow include Location, storage, camera, draw over other apps, modify system settings, install unknown apps. I would like to be able to grant these permissions through a script using the bundle ID if possible?
Hi, does anyone know of a way to reset a default application on an Android Plus device via a script? We're using Android KitKat on TC55's. Some users have accidentally clicked the wrong app and selected 'Always'. As the wrong app is on the blacklist it fails to open. Rather than remote onto each device and clear the default in the settings, I wondered if I could clear and then set the correct app via a script? In the meantime, I'm going to have to remove the 'wrong' app from the blacklist. Thanks.
I'm new to MobiControl and to the scripts but having read the reference guide I don't think I'm making any rookie mistake, but please enlighten me! I'm trying to find out when a device (Samsung A6- SM-A600FN) is turned off and on, one rough way of doing this seems to be checking when a device gets switched to "User mode" (seems to always occur when a phone boots). There doesn't seem to be a built in way of alerting for this, so I thought maybe scripts would be a good place to start and then see if I can send an email alert or report from there. I can see the event in the log already but ideally I need some alert for this, as any occasion this occurs during the working day would be suspicious for us. Following the reference guide HERE and using the example code below return "%var1%" not "Hello World" as expected. set var1=Substring "Hi Hello World Goodbye" 4 11 showmessagebox %var1% Any advice would be much appreciated.
