Release Highlights

Stella 2026.1.1 breaks down the walls between SOTI products and lowers the barrier to automation, delivering a unified data experience across SOTI MobiControl and SOTI XSight, as well as putting script creation in everyone's hands, no coding required.

Cross-Product Queries Across SOTI MobiControl and SOTI XSight

Stella now queries both SOTI MobiControl and SOTI XSight from a single conversational interface, so you can ask questions about your environment without worrying about where the data resides. Stella combines results into a single response, providing insights that span real-time device states and historical trends in one view.

Core Use Cases

1. Device Usage and Assigned Users

See how devices are used and to whom they're assigned, combining real-time properties from SOTI MobiControl with behavioral trends from SOTI XSight.

Example queries:

  • "Which devices are using the most data and who are the assigned users?"
  • "Which users spend the most time on YouTube between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.?"
  • "Which users are impacted by devices with bad battery health?"

Combine current device state from SOTI MobiControl with longer-term trends from SOTI XSight for a complete view.

Example queries:

  • "What is the status of App A in the Warehouse Group, and on which devices is it used the least?"
  • "List the top 10 devices in the Warehouse Group consuming the most data this month, with packages and size details."
  • "Which devices have not checked in over seven days and list related incidents."
  • "Which devices are enrolled in SOTI MobiControl but not in SOTI XSight?"

3. Battery Health

Identify battery issues across your fleet and correlate them with device activity, software versions, and environmental factors to pinpoint the root cause faster.

Example queries:

  • "Which devices show abnormal battery drain, and what apps and Wi-Fi networks were they connected to?"
  • "Which devices that received the 'OS16 Update' file sync have a charge level between 10%–40% 11:00 a.m. on the SOTI XSight Charge Level chart, and what is the total count?"
  • "Which stores have the most devices with unstable battery performance, and is this performance linked to OS or firmware version?"

4. Data Consumption

Identify devices and apps driving abnormal data usage, with context from both installed configurations and real-time telemetry.

Example queries:

  • "Which devices are consuming the most data, and what device information could be contributing to that consumption?"
  • "Which app versions are generating abnormal data consumption across stores?"

5. Compliance and Non-Compliance

Go beyond compliance status to understand whether non-compliant devices are also showing signs of instability or unusual activity.

Example queries:

  • "Which non-compliant devices also show high network instability or battery issues?"
  • "Which devices are blocked by a SOTI MobiControl compliance policy but still generate high activity or data in SOTI XSight?"

Script Generation with Stella

Stella can now generate, review, and refine JavaScript code through natural language, enabling you to build automation without programming experience or referencing API documentation. This feature is currently available for the Android platform using JavaScript only.

Example queries:

  • "Create a JavaScript script that restarts the Android agent."
  • "Write a script to restrict specific applications when a device enters a certain geographical area."
  • "Write a script that locks the device screen after five minutes of inactivity."
  • "Generate a script that disables the home button on Android devices."
  • "Create a script that logs the battery level every hour."
  • "Write a script that reads device storage usage and sends an alert if it exceeds 80%."
  • "Update an existing script to notify the administrator when the main action runs."
