Yes, Operational Intelligence with SOTI XSight requires the installation of the SOTI XSight Agent on the device, enabling it to collect and transmit data to the server.

What are the steps for deploying the SOTI XSight agent?

The recommended approach is to generate the agent from the SOTI XSight console, which will create a package in SOTI MobiControl. This package can then be included in a profile and distributed to the target devices. 

Is it necessary to upgrade the SOTI XSight agent?

While SOTI XSight agents are associated with the SOTI XSight server version, they do maintain backward compatibility. However, it is recommended to follow best practices and upgrade the SOTI XSight agent to take advantage of the key functionalities offered by each version. 

I have concerns regarding the SOTI XSight agent's data consumption. How can I configure it to transmit data when connected to a cellular network? 

You can control the data delivery method by configuring an Analysis profile. Within the profile settings, you have the option to select the preferred data transmission modes, including Wi-Fi or Ethernet, or Wi-Fi, Ethernet, Cellular,  (or Wi-Fi , Ethernet, Cellular, Roaming).

Which platforms are compatible with SOTI XSight?

SOTI XSight supports all major platforms, including Windows, Linux, iOS, and Android. However, it's important to note that for Operational Intelligence Dashboards, only Android and Windows are supported. 

What network prerequisites must be met to set up SOTI XSight?

However, a key requirement for using Operational Intelligence is that the agent communicates with the server via Port 5493, so it is essential to ensure this port is open on both the network and the server.

 Live View gathers device-specific data like location, signal strength, and battery status directly from the device itself. Additionally, it can retrieve and showcase data from your essential business applications through various integration methods, including: 

 

SOTI Snap: This enables automatic integration of custom apps generated with SOTI Snap. 

XT Sock: It allows for the integration of intelligent battery analytics via the XT Sock Plugin. 

JSON File: This method permits the inclusion of data from third-party applications using JSON files.
