SOTI XSight Product Lifecycle

The following listings specify the dates and/or versions by which SOTI XSight capabilities have already or will, within the next 12 months, reach their end of life.

 

What is meant by End of Life (EOL) for a product?

For SOTI products that are past their End of Life (EOL) we do not market, sell, deploy, or provide updates to those versions. If you are on a version of our product that is past EOL, we strongly recommend you upgrade to our most current version.

 

Why Upgrade When It's Working?

Although the product works, old versions of software inherently have security vulnerabilities that an attacker will exploit. Your best defense is to be on software that can receive updates and is free of known vulnerabilities.

 

What is meant by End Of Support (EOS) for a product?

Some companies tie End Of Support (EOS) to EOL. EOS means that they will no longer offer technical support for that version of the product. You are completely on your own.

SOTI provides technical support for all versions of our products, including those that are past EOL, so long as there is an active service contract and no product development involvement is required.  Our technical support continues for the life of your contract.  You can always call us.

SOTI XSight Releases

The following listing specifies the end-of-life (EOL) dates for SOTI XSight based on its major versions.

As of the EOL date, SOTI no longer provides any updates for the given SOTI XSight release version, including but not limited to security updates and defect fixes.

Generally, instances of SOTI XSight having a version that has passed the EOL date will continue to function. However, as per IT security best practices, it is strongly encouraged that customers regularly update their SOTI XSight instances so that they are always on a version for which security updates will be provided as required to address newly discovered vulnerabilities. Additionally, it is important to note that certain features of SOTI XSight may no longer function past the EOL date.

Managed Device Platforms

The following listing specifies the end-of-life dates for the device platforms which can be managed with SOTI XSight.

 

For the specified device platform and/or operating system versions, as of the EOL date, SOTI will:

  • No longer provide any software updates, including, but not limited to, security updates and defect fixes.
  • Halt the distribution of components such as device agents and XT Socks.
  • No longer test compatibility with any future SOTI XSight releases and SOTI XSight related services.

 

SOTI XSight server versions and agents released prior to the EOL date will continue to function with the EOL’d platform/operating system, up until the point that they are upgraded to a release issued after the EOL date.
