Hey guys I occasionally need to apply shared preferences to some android apps, and it would be great to do it via script. I have some set (see link here) and tried to update them with a script command: writeprivateprofstring <myAppName> BaseURI http://api.myAppDomain.com:8044/Api Essentially I am trying to keep 100 people from having to go in and adjust settings as the API endpoint URL has changed. This does not seem to touch those settings. Has anyone done it?
Hi Samsung XCover 4 running Android 8. Android Enterprise build Server version 14.1.4.1693 Agent version 13.6.0.x being upgraded via Play Store update to 13.7.2.1015 I've had 3 cases in as many days where people have updated the MobiControl agent via the play store - it's been amongst other updates like Maps so they have updated them all - and it has wiped the configuration settings of another app. The affected app is installed from the Play store via Application Manager but that's the only link between the two. Has anyone ever come across a scenario like this before whre updating the agaentand is there anything that can be done to mitigate against it? This app is about to be rolled out to 2000 devices over the coming months and I don't fancy the idea of dealing with issue on a larger scale.

Hi Can we turn off NFC on Android Enterprise devices. Running v14.1.4.1693 Samsung XCover4 Looking at the scripting options and the closest I can see is setradioenable but that only goes as far as Bluetooth. Do I have any other options?
I'd like to turn on the NFC on every Android+ devices (Panasonic FZ-N1) we registered in Mobi. I checked which parameters were set with the "watchsettings on" script and I executed these two lines to activate NFC on a device : writesecuresetting -glo airplane_mode_nfc_p2p 1writesecuresetting -glo nfc_status_p2p 1 Unfortunately, this only toggles the checkbox in the settings. It doesn't show the NFC logo on the top of the screen and I can't read any NFC tags. Is there a way to activate NFC from the MobiControl console? Mobi version: 14.1.4.1693 Mobi agent version on device : 13.5.0 build 1327 Android version : 5.1.1
Hi, On the SOTI-MobiControl platform, I want to prevent deleting the configuration of an IPAD group, as well as deleting the SOTI certificate. Thanks in advance, BR,
Hi, I'm currently investigating how I can automate as much of our tablet setup process as possible. One thing we do is reduce the camera resolution for saved images, so images that my company's field team upload to our systems, don't fill the servers with unnecessarily high quality images! I've looked at the following posts and attempted the watchsettings on function but I'm not seeing logs for the settings in the camera app on Android 7 (Samsung Galaxy Tab S2). https://discussions.soti.net/thread/what-is-the-script-command-to-pull-a-uri/ https://discussions.soti.net/thread/set-the-device-settings-using-a-script-or-configuration-file/ I understand there's more flexibility with Android Enterprise but Samsung isn't one of the certified manufacturers so we are having to stick with Android Plus. Is there another way I can find out what is being changed when the setting is modified in an attempt to script it? Thanks in advance!
I recently setup a telecom expense management rule to monitor data usage across our Samsung Tab E Android devices. I pushed out the rule to a group of the devices I want to monitor but found a user must activate the setting manually on the tablet. I pushed this out to a couple hundred devices in vehicles where we do not want the user to have to do this manually. Is there anyway I can programmatically make these changes?
Hi, I'm attempting to come up with a solution to update a mass amount of devices to change the screen timeout setting from 30 seconds to the OS max of 10 minutes (wish I could disable completely). I monitored setting the 10 minute setting and came up with the log and then script below. Log: Custom log (URI:content://settings/system SETTING:screen_off_timeout VALUE:600000) Script sent to device:writesecuresetting –sys screen_off_timeout 600000 There were no changes after the script was sent. I waited a few minutes / rebooted the tablet but no results. Is the command I sent via the script possibly not supported on our devices? Device: Samsung Tab E 8.0 (Verizon) Model: SM-T378V OS: 7.1.1 Thanks in advance for any help on this issue.
