Hello,we have setup SOTI MobiControl (14.2) on-premise, for internal (LAN) use only. When accessing the webconsole, we got a 'https unsafe' indication in the browser, indicating the website could not be trusted due to its certificates. With some help of SOTI support, we were able to import/install our own generated certificate in the MC Admin utility, and this issue is now gone. However, we still get a similar notification on the mobile devices in the device agent. Our devices are enrolled as 'work managed device' into SOTI MobiControl, using the afw#mobicontrol 'google account'.The notification appears when performing the enrollment, immediately after entering the enrollment URL in the MC app.How can we get rid of this?br, Steven
Installed v14.3.0 and enrolled my Android Enterprise device. Device is connected but not visible in the console at all. I checked there are no search filter’s set. Funny side is that I can see the device in profile assignment and even license dialog is showing a license is consumed. Any ideas?
Hello, We are displaying the %DEVICENAME% variable in our HTML device lockdown. This part is working fine, but the issue we are running into is that once the device is added to MobiControl, we rename them to match a naming convention that the Device Add Rule cannot replicate (combination of model # and substring of serial #/IMEI#). When we rename the device the name on the lockdown screen does not update until we either make a change to the profile and re-assign it or move the device between groups that cause the profile to be re-applied. How do we automatically force the lockdown screen to refresh this variable, while it is connected, without having to move it between groups or profiles? In SOTI MobiControl, it's possible to configure "Prevent unenrollment from Device Agent" for a device group. However, this does not seem to work, as I can still select 'unenroll' in the device agent? Environment = SOTI 14.2.1.4394 Panasonic FZ-N1 enrolled with Android Enterprise SOTI MobiControl Agent (13.6.0.1567), in Work Managed Device mode
In MobiControl - Package Studio, one has the option to activate 'Prompt for Installation'. However, this does not seem to work? The package gets installed without notification/question to the end user Environment = SOTI 14.2.1.4394 Panasonic FZ-N1 enrolled with Android Enterprise SOTI MobiControl Agent (13.6.0.1567), in Work Managed Device mode
Hi! We need to be able to enable Data-Roaming on devices for the SIM card to work properly. With watchsettings command in MobiControl we can get the "-glo data_roaming 1" value but writesecuresetting won't work with this command. Is there some other way of enabling data-roaming on devices, programmatically from MobiControl. The devices are Samsung devices. Since MobiControl can get the logs from the device with the particular global setting, it should also be able to change the value.
We've been investigating getting mxconfig script changes to work in kiosk mode. The solution I found was that I had to notify kiosk off for my mxconfig changes to take. The changes being setting Screen Type to None. This was the script: Notify kiosk offmxconfig /sdcard/ScreenTypeChange.xmlNotify kiosk on Has anyone found a better workaround for this? We're leery to apply to turn off kiosk in the field even if it is momentarily. Devices: Zebra TC75xAndroid 7.1.2Android Enterprise (DO)
Hi All, I need the 14.2.3 version, where can I find it? Thank you in advance, Filippo
We’re running MobiControl 13.4.0.4822 (cloud) and I was wondering who has upgrade to latest v.14 release and wanted to share their experience regarding performance and added features.
Hi All, A customer has raised a device to me that is showing the Android System Webview Application as Disabled. I am unable to Enable this application in the Application menu of the System Application as the button is greyed-out. The application is not in any blacklists applied to the device and is enrolled via the Android Plus enrollment. I have attempted the script but to no avail: appcontrol -w com.google.android.webview Has anyone seen this before? James
Greetings. I want to know, if it is possible to avoid being screenshot about a managed profile? I disabled it in the function control, but it did not work for me. Is this function only valid for Managed Devices?
Hello We have a Samsung J2Core with Android Go 8.1. The Samsung ELM agent is not compatible with the device. We were able to enroll it as Android Enterprise, but there is not plugin for it, so there is only remote view. It is a shame because the customer is used to remote control devices. Is there a plugin for this Android go devices ? Thank you.
Hi, Have an On-prem v14.3 instance that I am using for internal testing, all components (DS/DSE, MS, SQL) are all sat on the same Windows 2008 r2 server. Server sits behind a UTM firewall. Access from outside world to DS for devices is provided by inbound NAT via the firewall, from one of our available public IP addresses. Everything generally speaking works fine but I have found a couple of issues which I am really struggling to get a definitive answer on: - * I can enrol the server for Managed Google Play, this all completes fine. However when I enrol a device (typically as DO) to leverage use of the configured Managed Google Play services, I get the Configuring Google Work Account message in the Pending Actions but it never completes. Looking at the device logs there is an associated Managed Google Play error message showing "EMPTY_TOKEN". The device is therefore not receiving the AfW generic credentials back (I believe from the server but may be wrong...the devices have open access to the internet so should be able to directly communicate with GMS no problem). * Similarly when not using Managed Google Play, but attempting to leverage app deployment rules to deploy Google Play apps none of this works. The Apps never publish to the App catalogue on the device and cant be downloaded. When set as mandatory they equally never find their way onto the device. * Finally when looking at the Configuration Profiles screen within the device agent, this fails to communicate with the server and does not populate any of the information; simply throwing the error "failed to retrieve list of profiles". Have also had access to a cloud version and the above typically worked just fine and experienced no such issues. The firewalling is allowing the devices to communicate with the server inbound on 5494 & 5495, outbound the server is allowed to the internet on any port. I have the feeling that Google services and the device agent themselves are experiencing problems talking back to the server. Does 443 need to be allowed inbound also to allow this all to work? Appreciate any help or thoughts anyone can offer.
Hi, I am currently trying to add 3 Managed Bookmarks to the chrome browser on an Android Enterprise (Samsung Tablet, OS 8.1, Work Managed Device), I have followed the instructions on http://dev.chromium.org/administrators/policy-list-3#ManagedBookmarks. I can successfully push 2 bookmarks on to the device, but the MobiControl portal states that "The server could not complete your request an internal error occurred when the 3rd is added. I can push the 3rd bookmark to the device, without the others, just not all three together. Copying the JSON from Chrome, this is also resulting in the same error, so I have included this below; [{"toplevel_name": "My managed bookmarks folder"}, {"url": "google.com", "name": "Google"}, {"url": "youtube.com", "name": "Youtube"}, {"name": "Chrome links", "children": [{"url": "chromium.org", "name": "Chromium"}, {"url": "dev.chromium.org", "name": "Chromium Developers"}]}] Is anyone else experiencing this issue? Can anyone correct my JSON to get these to be displayed on the device? Thanks
Hello, I have a question regarding the Android Lockdown Screen on android+ devices. When you configure a browser call you can use the prefix "http".This launches a Browser in a single page mode without the adress bar and settings. Which Browser is opened here? And can you configure proxy settings for it? Thanks for your help.
