Hello, we are using Kiosk mode on Zebra TC56 device with android 7.1.2 and Mobicontrol v. 13.5.1 and we have problem with changing default application for messaging (com.android.mms). We have our own app for text messaging and when we start it there is a message "Change SMS app? Use app xy instead of Messaging as you SMS app?". Problem is that this message dissappear immediately (probably security function of Kiosk mode?) and it is not possible to accept the change. When we turn off Kiosk mode as administrator and try to start our app from android enviroment mentioned message (Change SMS app?) doesn't dissappear and we can accept it. But it would be quite hard to do this manual change on about 2k devices in production eviroment. We tried to uncheck "Activity Suppression" in advanced Kiosk mode settings which resolved our current problem. But another problem arose. The new one is with bluetooth pairing. Window with pairing code is somewhere "under" Kiosk mode layer so it is not displayed and we have to turn off Kiosk mode again and check pairing window. Can someone help us with this issue? Thanks, Michal Frgelec
Hi, does anyone know of a way to reset a default application on an Android Plus device via a script? We're using Android KitKat on TC55's. Some users have accidentally clicked the wrong app and selected 'Always'. As the wrong app is on the blacklist it fails to open. Rather than remote onto each device and clear the default in the settings, I wondered if I could clear and then set the correct app via a script? In the meantime, I'm going to have to remove the 'wrong' app from the blacklist. Thanks.
Hi, Does anybody know if it is possible to push an setting that told android to use app X when extension Y is opened? We want to prevent that users can choose their default application. *we cannot block the other app, because that one is necessary for another extensions. Thanks.
