Override Lockdown for all groups through root folder

Hi all,

i searched for long time in this forum but haven't found a similar questions yet.

Imagine a root folder (Group) with many subfolders. Each subfolder has a specific profile containing a lockdown and several apps.

In case of severe IT-server-problems our customer wants to set easily a "emergency lockdown" launching automatically a single app for all company devices.

I tried to assign a profile to the root folder to override all the subfolder profiles. Looking into a device configuration it says "ignored" for the lockdown. Looks like a first come first serve to me.

Any idea how to override all devices and set a lockdown screen with a single app launching automatically?

Run a Script?

Thanks in advance

Interesting problem. I would have to understand more about the problem before suggesting anything. What is the nature of the emergency you're trying to account for? Is it a network outage? Would the devices even have access to the SOTI server during the emergency in order to be able to dynamically change their configuration? Is the "emergency app" already installed on the devices or would it need to be installed at the same time?

Hi Matt,

i had to investigate also on this idea in the start ;)

The customer is talking about ERP server failure or other database related infrastructure. If this occurs, he wants the employees basically to stop working to prevent goods being moved in the warehouse. Internet connection would be still present in this case, so we can assume all device are able to connect to SOTI server.

Thank you very much for your help.

The only way I think that it is posible is through Mobicontrol API.

You can assign the root lokcdown, it will be ignored. When you revoke the group lockdown through the API the root lockdown will be applied automatically.
