Turn off Google Play Protect instead.  You have better control on what to allow and disallow with MobiControl application run control and Antivirus protection with latest Bitdefender engine.

Agreed, Google Play Protect can be dangerous in Enterprise use cases where a mission critical, line of business application could inadvertently be quarantined by GPP because it targets a lower Android SDK or uses an outdated library.
