Was it completely removed from the Play Store, or just removed from your approved apps in your App Catalog rule?

This is absolutely abnormal! Never heard of such problem.

Check your server log files to see if there is any abnormal entries related to modification of your app catalog rule.

The app has been completely removed from GPlay, so it has also disappeared from our list of approved apps.

The app was configured as mandatory in one of our catalogs. It has been uninstalled on the devices that pointed to this catalog

In fact, in another catalog it was as a suggested app, and in the devices that pointed to this second catalog nothing has happened

We have only log entries like this: 'device has no mandatory application'

I am sorry I overlooked some details of your post.   I thought your app got uninstalled when the corresponding entry in its app-catalog rule had been removed by some unknown means.

If the app has been completely removed from managed Google Play store by the developer, and you cannot find it any more when searching in Google Play store, then automatic uninstallation of the app from your devices seems to be reasonable.

I have not personally encountered this situation before but I actually would have expected the app to have remained on the installed devices if removed from the Play Store. The only experience I have with this is from the consumer world wherein if an app is pulled from the App or Play Store then it remains installed on the devices that have already downloaded it. This seems to match the behavior that Daniel saw when the app was set to Suggested so it seems like MobiControl may have actually deleted the app given that it was set to Mandatory. 

I had this exact issue this morning. App was removed from Play Store, Mobi uninstalled the app from devices.
In my case I was able to contact the developer and assign the APK as a package.

I would rather not manage the package, so if anyone has a different solution, I would like to hear it.
