Use REST API to create File Sync policies

Hi,

I have looked through the REST API docs and can't see a way to create File Sync Policies. Is this something that is going to be added?

Hi Andy,

Let me share an alternative way, that I used earlier. You can use either Custom Data or Custom Attribute features. If you prefer custom Attribute, you may also use importing an excel to upgrade/create custom attribute values in bulk.

And then from the assignment section of a file sync policies, you can filter the assignment based on either on custom data or custom attributes. So this way, only related devices will get the file sync policies. And you can any time update/create custom data or custom attributes (here is a short info about custom attribute: SOTI Discussion Forum)  from the API pages with API calls.

Thanks Zafer for that information.

That is a useful feature and I can utilize that for sure in my solution. I have the issue that I have new file sets that are created for specific devices so I will need to manually create the file sync rules ahead of time for each file set, by the looks of it and then use the custom attributes to assign to the new files.  Not quite what I was looking for but will definitely work.

Hi Andy,

It's a pleasure!

For my case earlier, after testing this out 2-3 times, I selected all devices, and assign the file sync policy all devices, but as I used filtering feature from advanced settings the file sync got assigned only related devices that I update the custom data or custom attribute when there is a match between my API call and the file sync policy filter side. 

If you may share more information about your needs with example, I believe some of us can share better/easier alternatives or ideas.
