Hi,
We have several groups set up and configured at the start of configuring Mobicontrol. Now, every time we add a new child group, it automatically inherits all the profiles and app rules from the parent and we would have to go through every single one of the profiles/app rules to uncheck it from applying to the new child group.
Is there a setting to prevent a new child group from inheriting?

The inheritance of Profiles, Rules, Custom Data, and other configurations through the Group structure is a fundamental behavior of MobiControl. I don't think you're going to be able to disable this inheritance behavior but you can work around it. If you don't want new child groups to auto-inherit new Profiles then you can unapply that Profile at the parent level and then manually assign it to the child groups that you prefer so that future child groups don't automatically inherit them.
For MobiControl rules, you also have the option of using virtual device group rather than normal device groups as the target. While virtual groups can also form tree hierarchy with child nodes inheriting properties from their parent node, it is possible to use only root virtual device groups with no child if you want to avoid inheritance.
