User-Authentication should be implemented to access sensitive data

Hello community,

I am looking for a solution for an application. Here's what I want to achieve:

in a Snap App, the user should first log in. For this, he should scan his ID card (which has a barcode). The scanned barcode should now be linked to a permission link to a folder stored on a OneDrive drive. In this folder, there are partially sensitive data that should be displayed on the tablet running the app.

This concerns a process in the food industry. In our country, businesses processing food are sporadically and without prior notice inspected by veterinary offices or similar authorities. As part of the inspection, on-site employees must, among other things, present their health certificates. These data should be made available through the above-mentioned folder structures and protected through authentication.

Has any of you ever implemented a similar requirement and can give me a tip on how to reference the correct folder via authentication data? I am already grateful for any advice!

  1. Hi Thorsten,

Currently our workflow types of app is supporting the authentication, in current form this is how I would try to achieve this use-case.
  2. Develop an application with workflow capabilities, denoted as App A.
  3. Enroll all employees in the SOTI IDP using their respective email addresses.
  4. Associate these users with App A.
  5. Create a REST API which will have the following information
    1. Employee ID
    2. Path to the PDF file of the health certification
  6. Create an app where after clicking the scan barcode, it calls this API and loads the respective certification.
  7. We use XANO app to create these APIs, you may use any other app too.
