Please check if there are any script(s) defined/selected in the "advanced" Settings tab of Speed Kiosk. If so, please check if they work fine for other devices (of same and different model(s))  deployed with this same profile.

If the script work fine in other devices, then you might need to nail down cause of the problem.  It can be your device firmware, your device agent, etc.  There are so many possibilities, e.g. may be the file systemm is full, or the agent has no permission writing to certain directory for a particular firmware version, etc.   In such case, I would advise you to open an official support ticket with Soti support team to investigate further.

If the problem is not related to any script, then maybe there is a misleading warning/error message in the log, and you have to look for other clue in the device/server log(s).

Have you enabled any option  in the speed  tab of  your lockdown profile payload?

yes, we have speed control enabled on this profile for 2 sat nav apps

thanks Raymond, there was an unknown script in the advanced settings, set it to none which seems to have resolved the issue
