We have some custom private apps in the managed google playstore If I unlink the account, is soti going to delete the apps from all devices automatically?

I never did but would assume so (because it should be similar to, if you delete the device from the console in general, where also the account is removed from the device and all apps provided by it are getting uninstalled).

But what's the reason asking for that? Do you just want to get rid of those apps (then there are other ways to do it)? I have the feeling you try something which should be handled different.

problem is we have 2 managed google play store accounts, and ill need the app on the account which is bind to soti on the other google play store account, but its not possible to upload two apps with the same package name in google play. so the best way would be to delete it on one, and then upload it on the other, however the devices should keep the app, until everything is working on the second account.

In general that's true but are you sure if you "delete" one of the accounts, the private apps will also disappear from the playstore in general? I don't think so.

You have (in my opinion) 2 possibilitys:

1. Contact google to remove the app from the playstore where it's not needed and upload it then to the new one. But there are some regulations to that (https://support.google.com/googleplay/android-developer/contact/publishing)

  • App must be in good standing (not removed or suspended by Google)
  • App must have 0 lifetime installs
  • App must be unpublished for 24 hours (to ensure 0 installs)

Unpublish an app

Unlike deleted apps, you can republish an unpublished app. If you unpublish an app, existing users can still use your app. Your app won't be available for new users to find and download in managed Google Play. To unpublish an app:

  1. On the left, click Private apps private apps.
  2. Select the private app you want to unpublish.
  3. Click Make advanced edits.
  4. Sign in to the Play Console with a Google Account.
Note: Your account will be added as an admin of your organization's Play Console account. You can use this account in the future to sign into the Play Console.
  5. Go to Release and then Setup and then Advanced settings.
  6. In the App Availability section, select Unpublish.

Delete a private app

Deleting a private app permanently removes the app from your Play Console account and you won't be able to republish it. Deleted apps aren't available for new users to find and download in managed Google Play, but existing users can still use them.

To delete an app, contact the Play Console support team.

2. You can upload the app just as Enterprise App (instead of via managed google play account) via apk file. Then you don't need to do the steps above.

Agreed that just deleting the app from one Private Play Console is not going to remove the app from the Play Server history and therefore that bundle ID is consumed and /or unusable unless you contact Google to have them manually scrub the old record. If you are the app developer you may be better off just recompiling under a new bundle ID or as Rafael has pointed out, you can also just use the Enterprise app or APK Package based Profile methods to install apps on Android devices without having to involve Google Play.

We personally like a clean setup, which also includes apps in the playstore. We let Google delete all apps which are no longer needed in the private playstore (because we switched to deploy them via Enterprise in app policys) to have it cleaned up and in final there won't be any one left there.

It's much easier to change something there (especially if you want remove apps) instead of contacting Google every time etc.. I really recommend to use the "2." way if you don't create apps to be available for other companies/users as well.
