Not sure if doable but how about to save a cmd (or js if javascript is used) file opened from the lockdown which opens those two websites at the same time?

sendintent -a "https://<URL1>#Intent;action=android.intent.action.VIEW;end"
sendintent -a "https://<URL2>#Intent;action=android.intent.action.VIEW;end"

(Taken from the documentation: https://www.soti.net/mc/help/v15.6/en/scriptcmds/reference/sendintent.html)

But i think you need to set soti surf as default browser using this (one time):

set_default_browser net.soti.surf/net.soti.surf.ui.activities.SplashActivity

(Taken from here: https://discussions.soti.net/articles/soti-surf-as-default-browser)

I know it would be a bad but maybe possible workaround.

Thanks, Rafael.

It's not really working. The browser starts, but an alert shows up saying "You're not allowed to view this page"

Silly question: Are you allowed to view that page if you open it manually? Sounds very like an network permission issue.

JS

The device is AE enrolled, and in administrator mode. It's the same page Soti Surf has been configured to view in the Soti Surf Settings profile. When I use Surf the "standard" way, I can connect/view anything internal/external.

Then I'm lost, Sorry. That was just an idea but this message shows a bit strange for me in this relation.

Hi Jan,

Thank you for posting on Soti Pulse!

Just curious, is there a reason why you want to open up 2 tabs pointing to the same website? What is the use case for this?

If you could provide a use case, we could possibly understand the issue better and give you some guidance.

Kind regards,

Hi !

It's a warehouse application used by forklift users. To be efficient, they try always to have goods on the forks, so they use 2 different sub-pages in the same web application - one for receiving (and storing) goods to the (freezer) warehouse, and anoter one for outgoing goods.

Today they use the application menu to get into the receive goods sub-page, and when they go out, they have to back out of the receive goods sub-page to the menu and choose the sub-page for the outgoing goods. And the vece-versa again... and again....We cannot point them directly to  sub-pages, as they have to go through login and menu to come to the correct sub-pages.

Hi Jan,

Thanks for posting on SOTI Pulse and thanks Rafael for responding to the post.

I would like you to suggest a workaround here to create a web app from the google play store hope that helps.

Please follow the steps below.

Go to app policy > Select Enterprise or Classic> Select Manage Google Play> Select Web App and make a web app with your URL

It will publish an application, and you can use that application bundle Id in the lockdown profile.

So, for your two web pages, you can create two web apps and put those two application bundle IDs in lockdown, and switch applications as per your requirements.

If that workaround helps, please mark this conversation as a solution.

Please find attached a screenshot for reference.

Thank you.

Hi !

Thanks for your answer.

The devices I need to use it on are not in a managed enterprise. Just "plain" Enterprise.

Can I do it then ? I have a managed google play, and I can make the policy and the web app - but how do I assign it to ther device not being part of the managed enterprise ?

Hi Jan,

I appreciate your post on SOTI Pulse, and I extend a special thank you to Rafael and the other moderators for their prompt responses. Your expertise and willingness to assist are greatly appreciated!

As per the suggestion mentioned earlier, the feature allowing the use of two web pages as a web app is only enabled when utilizing the managed Google Play application. Additionally, configuration needs to be performed within Google Play itself, as illustrated in the screenshots provided, by specifying the title and URL.

However, if you're pushing SOTI Surf as an application via APK upload, the advanced configuration won't allow you to make changes as described above. Therefore, as a workaround to have your website accessible via two different web clips, you'll need to follow the workaround suggested by the moderator. This involves creating and publishing an application that links to the two web pages separately.

Regarding your mention of your device being a "Plain enterprise," I'm curious to understand what you meant by "Plain" in this context. Additionally, could you please provide details on how you enrolled your device? If you used the afw method, then your device is indeed enrolled as an Android enterprise. In any scenario where your device is enrolled as work-managed, the aforementioned workaround should work, allowing you to meet your requirements.

Should the issue persist, I recommend opening a SOTI support ticket. This will enable us to thoroughly investigate the situation and provide you with effective solutions or workarounds.
