Hi,

first of all, please write in normal size font without fat, this doesn't look professionell.

To your issue, i don't know your setup but please tell, if you just want to have it disabled after reboot or in general?

Hello Rafael,
Thank you for your response. I hadn’t noticed the font issue earlier — it must have slipped by as I copied and pasted the text directly.

What I mean is that after restarting the device, Wi-Fi should automatically be turned off.Although I manually disable Wi-Fi, it is re-enabled each time the device restarts. Since we only need Wi-Fi periodically, this behavior is not suitable for our use case.

Hmm, normally i would expect this staying off after reboot, so maybe check what you have set in feature control profile (if provided) but apart from that you could do this:

  • provide task profile
  • add a task that turns off Wifi
  • and set the task to be executed on device boot

But this sounds for me like a workaround.

Can you check how the device behaves when not enrolled to the MDM and Wifi is turned off before rebooted just to see if it's device behavior or semething being setup maybe somewhere through the MDM.

Also for example my Samsung device (Android 15) has an option "turn on/off Wifi automatically" which turns on Wifi when you are at a location where you use it often. Settings like this can cause this behavior as well.
And our Motorola devices on Android 14+ and our Nokia devices on Android 13+ have this setting as well.

I also did a test on two of my test devices (Motorola & Samsung).

Even it took some more time on the Samsung but on both Wifi was turned on after the reboot automatically.

But if i turned of (tested only on the Samsung) the auto-connect of the Wifi, it turned on after reboot but didn't connect to it (no other Wifi was configured).

So, can you check this on your end? Does this switch maybe be reset after reboot on your device(s)? Can the device with turned of Wifi still reach the Mobicontrol severs (via mobile data) and grap there something which may set this again?

Dear Mr. Rafael,
Thank you very much for all your support. I will be pausing the tests for a while. Once I receive the testing device, I will carry out the necessary tests and share the results with you.

Rafael,

Wildly guessing lots of things without first knowing the MobiControl server/agent versions, device model/firmware versions, enrollment mode etc.does not look professional either.

Raymond,

it's not wildly guessing lots of things, it's experience and knowledge of things which are worth to look into before going into details as server and agent version and device/model and so on may not the issue here but general Android (OS) or Mobicontrol behavior.

And those things are fast and easy to check and everything else might take way more time, deep investigation and so on. So first, look for the low hanging fruits and then grab the higher ones if needed.

Also server/agent, enrollment or device/model, firmware are most likely to investigate the best with support as they can grab logs and so on to analyze way better than the community can do because we here don't have access to that.

And we both know we won't be friends in any life, so even i respect your knowledge, I'm not fine how you act on especially me, so just next time keep it for yourself (as writing PM's is not possible since the community upgrade, otherwise i would have asked to do it there) and focus on helping guys here doing the same job as we do... Thanks!
