looks like remote controlling Samsung devices is not possible while DEX mode is running on the devices.
Is there a way to shut down DEX mode by running a script?
I don't think there is currently any built-in MobiControl script command to restrict DEX mode on Samsung devices.
However, if you are using the OEM-independent Android-Enterprise device agent rather than Samsung ELM Android+ device agent, you can have such control for free using the OEMConfig compliant "Samsung Knox Service Plug-in" app deployed with a MobiControl App-Catalog Rule.
Thanks for mentioning that. Actually, our whole device portfolio consists of Samsung devices which are running on the ELM version of the MC client, so this may not be an option.
If you are using Samsung Android+ ELM device agent on your devices, you have to write your own program using Samsung KNOX SDK's downloadable from related Samsung support web-site. Since, DEX mode control is not a premium feature with their KNOX libraries, there is no need to pay Samsung for any KNOX premium license to use such MDM function.
