Hello,

is it possible to get the devicename (in the "new device rule") automatically filled with the command "getprop net.hostname".

I read in the Manual MobiControl Help "Enter the combination of text and macros you want " :)

I was able to rename a device using the %HOSTNAME% macro which ended up setting it to the device's current IP address. Not sure if that is what you're looking for or not.

Hi Matt, We tried with %Hostname% but it doesnt work. The Devicename is now "%Hostname%" :) It there any lists what commands are possible or how i can use another makro? We set the Hostname with HostMgr StageNow.

I'm using 14.3 so maybe its a newer feature. With that being said, when I rename the device with the %HOSTNAME% macro it seems to pull the IP address instead of the hostname that you're looking for so it may not be particularly useful anyway:
