writesecuresetting based scripts have largely gone by the wayside during the transition to Android Enterprise and higher versions of Android OS. Most of them no longer work and you therefore need to figure out alternative ways of setting certain settings. Unfortunately there are a lot of references to writesecuresetting scripts out there so I see a lot of people being confused and disappointed when they don't work. You may need to investigate OEM specific configuration extensions like OEMConfig for your manufacturer or something like MX XML or Knox for Zebra or Samsung respectively.

Hi rathasatekun,

Thanks for posting on SOTI Pulse, Thanks Matt  for responding to the post, your expertise and willingness to help are greatly appreciated!

Have you had an opportunity to test the suggested solutions by Matt using OEM, and has it successfully addressed your query?

Can you please specify the device model?

If the devices are samsung you can also try the below steps

To disable access to the power-saving setting on Samsung devices, one is required to do the following:

  • Go to Policies in the hamburger menu and create a new App Policy > Samsung Knox Service Plugin or from a Profile (On SOTI MobiControl 2024 and later)
  • Enable Device-wide policies (selectively applicable to Fully Device (DO) or Work Profile on company-owned devices (WP-C) mode as noted) > Toggle on Enable device policy control.
  • Select the drop-down on Device Restrictions.
  • Toggle off Allow power saving mode and Allow data saver mode.

If not, or If you have any additional questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out. We're dedicated to providing assistance and support.
