I want to be able to assign a profile to a device or device group if a minimum battery threshold criteria is met.
When assigning a package via profile that will install a software update on the device, an administrator wants to make sure the device has sufficient battery level to install the the software update on the device. Starting with 13.3 MR8 and above MobiControl allows administrator to choose a minimum battery threshold as a profile delivery criteria.
This means an assigned profile will only be delivered to a device when the device exceeds the specified battery level. This option, which is disabled by default, will be available in the Profile Assignment dialog box under the options tab where a user can specify the minimum battery level before targeting the profile.
See attached image to see where this option is available.
What is the range of values that you can specify? 0-100? Is there a value like -1 or 255 that indicates that the device is currently charging?
But in reality the device actually only have 45% of battery because the 52% data is 1h45m old.hence my policy will run incorrectly on some devices.
The profile will target devices based on the last known battery value (this will vary depending on the last time the device checked in - often based on the "Update Schedule"), however before installing the profile updated battery information will be retrieved and the profile applicability will be re-evaluated. If the device doesn't match the profile requirement it will remain pending installation until the device does meet the criteria.
