open rdp file from the SOTI Lockdown screen

Solved

I'm setting up a lockscreen for an Android device. (Honeywell CT45 with android 11)

Is there an way to launch an RDP file from the lockdown screen. When I directly open it from the file explorer it is working.

file is located \sdcard\download\<filename>.rdp

What's not workingß Just the link does not appear or is the link not working?

Maybe try to add the rdp app also to the lockdowntemplate (now just for testing) and look if the link works then.

It is working when I also add the remote desktop app in the lockdown. This is not the ideal situation, i want to prevent the situation that users can change settings within the RDP application

Then put the rdp app on the top of your lockdown apps (1st in the list) and remove this first item in the template.

If done so, they can't open it but it grants the availability to use it like you wanted to.

Thanks, that was the final touch!

Then i would be glad if you mark this as the solution, so others know that and even recognize that your topic is solved also.

Another solution I'm using is Parallels Client (for classic RDP). IMHO it has two major advantages over other apps - you can "call" it using URI and also put password there. In combination with (Custom or builtin) Attributes you can have dynamic Lockdown entries per device, group or whatever you need

I'm familier with Parallels Client, but from the customer side, they use an remote desktop gateway. I can't add this is Parallels
