SOTI v13 Organizing Virtual Groups

HI

Here at Zebra, we are mostly using SOTI v13.3 and we tend to deal with a lot of Virtual Groups. What I wanted to make is one group folder on the root and then put all our Virtual Groups inside it. All those VG which are using filtering feature are not reading devices which are not part of my new group folder. Only devices that I drag and drop will be shown there, but not the ones targeted by filter.

There is even message stating: "Virtual group will include devices from MYGROUPNAME and its subgroups."

But on SOTI v10.0 I was able to do the same without issue, but the message from above is not present.

Is there a way around it on V13.3?

Regards

Sasha

Hi

virtual groups only read data from their current group and their subgroups.

For your needs you have to create virtual root groups.

Upgrade OVS to support 14.1 so that you can upgrade your SOTI instance and use the dynamic filtering instead of Virtual Groups.

Thanks for the answer but that's really not helpfull and not up to me or my team when comes SOTI upgrade. It's a very complicated process which involves different teams and customer approvals. I am interested in a quick and a simple solution if possible.
