Static IP configuration on Samsung tablets via Knox Service Plugin (KSP) in MobiControl 2025.1

Hi,

I need to deploy a large fleet of Samsung tablets, and in my company these devices must be configured with static IP addresses.

I’m used to working with Zebra and Honeywell devices, where setting a static IP is quite straightforward.

I expected to be able to do the same on Samsung devices using Knox Service Plugin (KSP) via the OEMConfig profile, but after reviewing the available payload in MobiControl version 2025.1.0.1007, I can’t find any option to define a static IP, gateway, DNS, and so on.

Does anyone know if it’s possible to configure a static IP on Samsung devices through SOTI (KSP or otherwise) without doing it manually on each device?

Thanks in advance.

No way i know of from device side i know of.

The only thing i can know of is disabling MAC randomization via KSP or Soti and then provide the devices always the same IP from DHCP server side.

You may need to reach out to Samsung if they can build in this into their KSP but ofc if they will do, it will take development time and maybe also an oem update to work if even possible.

Thanks, Rafael — you’ve confirmed what I suspected.

I’ve registered on Knox to check whether there’s any way to handle this through Knox itself, since I don’t have access to the network and can’t manage the DHCP side.

Thanks again for your help!

Best regards,

Ximo
