Depending on your manufacturer, you can handle it (or not) but in general you can:

- try to block the user to access the relevant menu for manual updates
- Provide an update policy for postpone, window or automatic updates
- maybe block updates via oem config app (if available)
- use enterprise devices like Zebra where you need to take care of the upgrades yourself
- block relevant traffic thru the network

But this all depends on which devices you use, where your devices are used and how your setup looks like.

And just to add: I don't know about something like a notification if an update is available.

Thank you Rafael for the answer.

I need only to know if an upgrade was made before or not

Not sure how you handle that but you have the OEM versions to be able to compare.
You could build a javascript and use an ini file and write into it with a lot of dependencies the software versions if changed with relevant date and time checked on a regular base and let Soti read some of them into the console via Custom data but there's nothing default you could look for right now.

I forgot to mention, you may need to execute this script ideally via a task profile then once a day or so.

As Rafael said in his previous post, whether or not there is any device firmware upgrade information on the device screen or device-agent/server log  for display on the web-console depends heavily on the firmware of the device brand/model of interest.

However, if you want to proactively monitor firmware upgrade status of all device brand/models managed by your MobiControl server, one possible way is to add data-collection rule to periodically collect operation system version information (for identifying major version upgrades) and/or custom data of OEM version string (for identifying minor upgrades/security patches) for subsequent analysis when needed.   Similar firmware upgrade information may be easier to be obtained and analyzed if your server also includes integration with non-free Soti XSight software.
