SOTI surf is based on Android web view component and since Android 4.4 (KitKat), the WebView component is based on the Chromium open source project. In Android 5.0 (Lollipop), the WebView has moved to an APK, as a standalone component from the operating system to give security patches & up to date support on all the new web supported languages (HTML5, CSS, PHP etc..). The WebView will auto-update for mobile devices with Android L and above. The latest android web view component supports all the latest versions of the web supported languages like HTML5, CSS3+, JavaScript

For more details please refer the following link for Android WebView:

In iOS, SOTI Surf uses UIWebView to render Web Components. It supports all the latest web technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript. In addition to HTML contents, UIWebView can be used to display other contents types, such as Keynote, PDF, and Page Documents. UIWebView uses WebKit as rendering engine and JavaScriptCore as JavaScript engine.

Is this still accurate information? I have an environment where Chrome on the device is behaving differently than SOTI Surf where I would expect them to perform the same if they are leveraging the same WebView. These are Zebra TC72s running Android O GMS  with version 70.x of the Chrome WebView installed.
