understanding profile Install Date and Scheduling

I'm having trouble understanding how all these settings interact in my setup.

Is there a tutorial that explains this clearly with examples?

Here's what I've done so far:

  • In my profile's options, I've set an Install Date for today at 2:50 PM (it's now 3:07 PM). The execution time is set to Device time.
  • I've also set a Custom Package Installation Schedule: Weekdays from 7:00 AM to 11:30 PM (UTC), with execution time also set to Device time.

Since we're 5 hours behind UTC, the Install Date should fall within the scheduled time frame.

However, the TC52x scanner is still showing "Pending Installation."

Am I missing something?

I'm trying to test the installation of a single APK payload within a specific time window.

Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

What time are the devices? Are they successfully syncing date and time to either the SOTI server or an NTP server?

Also what version of MobiControl are you on? 2024.1.1 has had reports of Profiles getting stuck in Pending Installation status.

Matt, We're on 2024.1.1.

It's always been this way. I've never scheduled updates because my prelim testing fails.... so I don't try too often but we just upgraded from v15.6 so I thought I'd try again.

Yes, afaik, all scanners date and times are working correctly and are accurate.  They are all CST and I'm in CST. 

So, even though I chose 'Device Time' for section Execution Time, am I supposed to put in UTC time in the FROM and TO sections?  

In your opinion, do I have the settings correct (as best you can tell from screenshot)?
