Devices not Preserving Device Name on Re-Enrollment

Hello,

I am unable to configure my enrollment to Preserve Device Name on Re-Enrollment even though the setting is turned on.

When I unenroll and renroll a device, it doesn't keep the name that I have setup.

Example:

  • Enroll and use the %SERIALNUMBER% to name the device initially.
  • Append a NAME to the SERIALNUMBER.
  • Unenroll device and delete from SOTI (should I not be deleting the device if I am renrolling? Maybe this is the issue?)
  • Renroll the device and the name is SERIALNUMBER and not NAME+SERIALNUMBER.

Make sure you only perform "unenrol" device action, and not "delete" device action.

Also, make sure the "Delete Devices after Unenrollment" option in "Unenrollment Actions" of Global Settings tab is also disabed.
