When you said "large device",  I assume you are actually talking about a larger number of devices.

If you have a different version of  the file  deviceinfo.ini for each of your devices, then for each such device, you can create a sub-directory in your server source file-sync directory based on the device-ID.  Then just configure one single file-sync rule/policy and choose the option to use sub-directory based on device-ID for the file-sync destination directory.
