Macbook URL Whitelist

Hello everyone,

I am currently working on a case for an educational organization whose students use MacBooks.

They need a robust way to implement URL whitelisting across all available browsers (Safari, Chrome, Firefox, etc.), rather than restricting it just to Safari.

We have looked into using a Forcepoint plugin as a potential solution, but we have been unable to get a response from their team so far.

Has anyone handled a similar requirement for macOS in an education environment?

Any insights, recommendations, or alternative approaches would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Randy

Are you able to implement a firewall or vpn policy instead?

Hi Randy,

One possible alternative would be to implement a firewall or VPN policy that enforces URL filtering at the network level rather than relying on browser-specific controls.

Would you be able to implement a firewall or VPN solution in your environment? This approach would apply the URL whitelist across all browsers (Safari, Chrome, Firefox, etc.) and can provide more consistent enforcement than browser-specific restrictions.

Please let us know if this is a feasible option in your environment.

Thank you!
