Android Enterprise Enrollment in devices without camera

Hello,

I'm currently enroll my devices with one QrCode and then use the device camera or device scanner.

Now I need to enroll one type of device without camera and scanner.

I try to use the MobiControl Stage Programmer app with NFC but this app only works on older version of Android - newer version doesn't have Android Beam.

What's the best alternative to enroll these devices?

Thanks.

If you have large number of AE devices to enroll, the simplest is to use automated provisioning mechanism such as Zero-Touch Enrollment  (Or Knox Mobile Enrollment [KME] for Samsung) for device brands/models with such support.

Hmm, I haven't heard of NFC not being able to be used for enrollment on latest Android versions but i don't use it yet. I would assume that Google would announce that so, NFC staging should still work if the manufacturer of the devices haven't disabled this from their side in the OEM.

Additional to Raymonds suggestion (which i also prefer but need the devices to be added to the Zero-Touch portal by the reseller!):

Another way to enroll devices can be using the afw#mobicontrol when asked for Google account during enrollment. But this is a very manual way.

If you have Zebra devices (as an example, maybe other manufacturers like Honeywell have something similar) you could use StageNow Barcodes for enrollement scanned by integrated scanner (if exists).

Hello Rafael,

Application shows this message, and when I click Enable nothing happens:

I search online and found information that Android Beam was deprecated since Android 10.

Out of curiosity, what manufacturer + model doesn't have a camera, scanner, or NFC capability? I am thinking maybe a vehicle mount computer from Honeywell or Zebra but even with those you can use a tethered USB scanner for staging and enrollment

Hi Matt,

Yes, is a vehicle mount computer from Honeywel and this device have NFC.

This device doesn't have any USB Port.

I'm pretty sure you should be able to use a Granit scan serial scanner with default out of the box settings for staging purposes on those devices.
