My Dialer app for Samsung OS 13 is not working with Native Lockdown template applied-

Phone app package ID name: com.samsung.android.dialer: when pressing the phone app it opens but when dialing the number it does not do anything. Tried this in admin mode and it dials out just fine.

Ran the Identify_Activity script in admin mode while dialing out and got this package ID name: com.samsung.android.incallui/com.android.incallui.call.InCallActivity

Tried adding this to the lockdown template for phone Launch:// and got the MC error: No activity found: when I press the phone button.

I ended up switching the lockdown back to Activity Suppression but now I cannot use my recents button which is only available with Native Lockdown. 

How can I get my Dialer app to work with Native Lockdown template applied?

Hi Katie

Could you please double-check if your profile has the "Feature-Control" payload with the "Allow Outgoing Cellular Phone Calls" option enabled?

Can you try adding this item to the lockdown to see if it makes any diffrence:

apologies, i had this still added as well on the phone launch: com.android.incallui.call.InCallActivity

I now have phone: com.samsung.android.dialer

and then also added the one you suggested: com.android.contacts/com.android.dialer.DialtactsActivity

I can now get to the phone app but when i dial the number and press the call button nothing happens, just dissappears and never makes a call

that one took me to the phone app as well but does not make the call either. Tried in admin mode again and the call goes through still just fine, so definitely something with this native template in lockdown mode.

It is also worth verifying the 'Phone app permissions' on the device to ensure that calling permissions are enabled, located in System > Apps > Phone app > Permissions.

thanks but no luck with that one either. I also made sure the permissions for the phone app were enabled and they were.

I'm going to open a case with SOTI. Was hoping this was a quick fix and I was doing something wrong or missing a step.

Was this feature functioning previously? Is this a newly created profile?

Consider testing by removing all other profiles except the lockdown profile; there might be interference from settings within other profiles.

Yes you can always contact SOTI support for a more in-depth investigation.

i made this change in early December and just got reports today that they were unable to dial out. Nothing has changed from then until now but the December patch update from Samsung. So i checked with versions on the older patch and the new one and neither can dial out so that's not the cause. 

I will strip the profiles and start from there while waiting on SOTI, thank you!

partial solution maybe: I had to add all these packages to my lockdown template along with the dialer package for my phone app: 

Com.sec.phone
Com.android.phone
Com.samsung.android.app.telephonyui
com.samsung.android.incallui
com.android.server.telecom

com.samsung.android.dialer

It will make calls now but the call is not shown in the window it only shows at the top in the notification bar and when i try to click on the screen while the call is in progress it flashes on and off, very weird stuff and not a solution for me to implement the native lockdown right now in my enviornment with the current behavior. but "it does make the call"

As you have identified "com.samsung.android.incallui/com.android.incallui.call.InCallActivity", have you added this to the lockdown as well and tried again?

Thank you for saying that! I added that one back as well and did get it to look like it should! Did a little more testing with the others (didn't feel like I needed them all) and these are the only ones I need to get the call working in Native Lockdown Mode: 

For phone app: com.samsung.android.dialer

For telecom service on android devices: com.android.server.telecom

Activity inside of the call: com.samsung.android.incallui/com.android.incallui.call.InCallActivity
