Notify users if technical support access its Windows PC

Hey guys,

How can Windows users tell whether someone is using Soti Mobicontrol to access their computer? Did administrators need to update any configurations for this?

As we don't manage Windows devices using Soti i can just guess but i would look into the device group permissions in the users and permissions tab for each user(group) and uncheck control without notification if set.

Hi Ancel Simethy,

Thank you for posting on SOTI Pulse. Thanks Rafael Schäfer for responding to the post, your expertise and willingness to help is greatly appreciated.

To clarify, do you want to know if someone is using the WebConsole to access the enrolled Windows devices (Remote Control) or are you inquiring if there is a way for the end user to know if someone accessing their device through the WebConsole.

For the first scenario we can check the logs from the console to know the details specifically for each devices. Access Device Details<Logs for more information.

In the second scenario you can try turning off "Control Without Notification" under Remote Control Device Permissions by accessing Users and Permissions section. For this to work you have to use a Role other than MobiControl Administrators or create an entirely new role. Under the Role click Device Group Permissions and on the right side of the page scroll all the way to the bottom and you will find Remote Control Devices section. Under which toggle off Control Without Notification.

Changing this will let the end user know if someone under the newly created role is trying to access the device using remote control.

Please do let me know if this has answered your query. Thank you!!

Kind Regards,
