once  every one or two weeks is actually not that hard, is it?

I agree that checking the release notes manually isnt that significant of a burden but if you really wanted to you could setup an alert of some kind via a chrome extension like Page Monitor.

Unfortunately there is no feature to subscribe for notifications for the latest releases. The two answers above this post are excellent ways to check for this information.
