Request a file sync from a script on Android

I come from the Window Mobile world of MobiControl and trying to find information on requesting a file sync via a script.

With WM I could use CommLoader.exe -syncfile to force a sync. I'm not sure if there is an Android equivalent.

As far as I know, there is currently no direct script command to force a file-sync on Android platform.
