Allow App to update

Hello,

we are using a software on a Zebra TC72, which needs to be updated everytime the server receives an update. If I am not using SOTI, the APP will tell you that there is a new version available, ask you if you like to update and run the update. If I use SOTI, the App brings up an error, that the update could not be run.

I assume, that this has to do with SOTI, not 100% sure. Is there a setting or something, where I can allow the App to update itself.

I would like to avoid doing the update every month, if possible.

Hi Oliver,

is that like a New Version with a new APK File?

We are Updating our Application over Mobicontrol when we have to relase a new Version to the Devices.

This works only when the new APK Version is Higher then the installed one.

Hello Marcus,

yes, I think it is a new version with a new apk. The problem for me is to get the apk. It is quite tricky, as the apk is not provided by the developing company. I have to install it on a virgin device, copy the apk from there and re-install it. It is quite complicated. I do not know, what happens, when the "Would you like to upgrade" would work. Will they download a new apk? Maybe.

Is it a App what is available in the Playstore or a for your Company Developt Application ?

It is not in the Appstore available, it is a Company development. But I am now in contact with the developers and I hope we get it fixed. Thank you for your assitance

it is deployed via a package and the error doesn't say anything.

But I am in contact with the devloper now and hope we get it fixed.
