Wallpaper on lockdown screen

Hi, We are facing an issue where the wallpaper doesn't apply during lockdown. However, if the device is in Admin mode, I can see the wallpaper and the lockscreen, but in lockdown, it just shows a black background. I know that we can add code to the lockdown template to fix this, but I would like to know if there is an easier method to add the wallpaper to the lockdown screen as well.

What is the device brand and model?   What procedure do you take to change the wallpaper without lockdown?

You have to check the name(s) of the software used to change the wallpaper in the process, and possibly whitelist such item(s) with lockdown or application-run-control policies.

Hi Raymond, thanks for your reply. We use Samsung Android devices (e.g., Samsung TAB A8). I have created a profile and added the wallpaper to it.

if you use the DynamicAndroidLockdown Template, in the lockdown configuration add a new item and set it up as: Custom. name it background and toggle use custom images then upload your background

I found some error getting the right wallpaper image file defined in the Wallpaper profile payload onto my test Samsung phone  a moment ago.  I guess there are some bugs or tricks to get it right. Things should get more complicated with lockdown menu on because the html renderer of the kiosk/lockdown-menu might not be able to get the desired wallpaper file if it is not defined directly in the html/CSS template.   I likely need to do more tests on different Samsung models running different Android firmware versions before concluding the cause of the problem.

In the meantime, my answer to you would be to modify the wallpaper file to be used directly in the html/CSS template.  After all, this is the easiest approach to change the background wallpaper in lockdown menu.
