Bitdefender Antivirus definition update for devices in a closed corporate network

If BOTH MobiControl servers and devices are all restricted to a CLOSED Wifi-only corporate network, and only the MobiControl server can have firewall exception(s) added for very limited access to support servers, then what firewall exceptions should be added to allow Bitdefender Antivirus latest definition update file be REGULARLY updated (as configured in the Antivirus payload in a profile) to the targeted devices via MobiControl deployment server?

Hi Raymond,

The product manager had provided me with a response regarding your inquiry.

He explains that MobiControl uses a mirroring server that sits on SOTI Services to acquire new definitions - it is the mirroring server's task to reach Bitdefender to download and store new updates.

In short, devices should receive updates from the SOTI Server itself. 

With that said, I have provided the URL's for the mirroring server to be whitelisted on the firewall below:


Please note that:

  • Both the Soti Services URL and Mirror Server URL are fixed
  • The Mirror Server URL is sent from the SOTI license server


The recommendation is to whitelist the IP/FQDN's, but the specific IP addresses are below:

  • 54.208.149.103 54.209.62.205
  • 54.208.194.169 54.209.186.178

I will also make a request to update the v14 Online Help to include the information above.

Hey Raymond,

is this working correctly for you?

I am running the same configuration but our devices try to reach the mobicontrol mirror servers nonetheless they cant.

But none is updating its antivirus definition through the on premise server.. and the soti server ofcourse can access both mirrors.

So i created a case with support myself and staff told me that this procedure is currently not supported.

Devices must have access to the antivirus mirror servers themselve otherwise antivirus definitions arent updated.
