I'm not sure because i'm not able to test but i think that's the normal behaviour (image will be stretched according to how many pages are used).

So, i think, you are only able to center it with editing the image (put bars where you need them to get the real image "centered").

I managed to fix this by editing the actual picture and then filling the background with colour via Paint.
