SOTI MobiControl Supports Android Enterprise Management | SOTI

SOTI MobiControl provides control and visibility over your Android devices. They’re ready to work, right out of the box, to enable greater productivity for your workers. SOTI MobiControl Android Enterprise Management also protects Android devices with powerful security and geolocation tracking.

Whether it’s a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD), Corporately Owned, Business Only (COBO) or Choose Your Own Device (CYOD) model, the results are the same: fast deployment, flexible management and strong security for your Android devices.

Here are selected Android 14 and above features you can leverage with SOTI MobiControl, and how they support your mobile operations.

Powerful Security

Protect Devices with 2G Connectivity Controls

Prevent mobile devices from connecting to a 2G network in areas where 3G, 4G or 5G networks are available. 2G isn’t as secure as other networks and is more likely to be malicious than legitimate. Security issues with 2G include a lack of mutual authentication and weak encryption between towers and devices. Sometimes, devices can be silently downgraded to 2G, leaving them susceptible to attacks.

Organizations need better access control to protect their networks. IT admins can prevent devices from accessing 2G by turning off 2G when employees travel to specific locations or leaving it turned off by default. Protect transportation and logistics (T&L) workers whose routes include areas with multiple networks. Also, protect field service technicians working in remote areas.

Six Digit PIN Unlock

With four digits, there are 10,000 PIN combinations. With six digits, there are now 1,000,000.

A six digit PIN provides enhanced device and data security as the risk of unauthorized access is drastically reduced.

Managed Ultra-Wideband (UWB)

UWB tracks the location of devices with incredible accuracy. This is considered a benefit for some industry use cases, however not for others as it can present a privacy and security risk. SOTI MobiControl and Android 14 now allow IT admins to turn off UWB on corporately owned devices when required.

Privacy and security are maintained when tracking device location isn’t essential. This Android Enterprise Management feature helps organizations maintain National Information Assurance Partnership (NIAP) standards and compliance. NIAP is a cybersecurity product certification mandated by U.S. national security systems to handle sensitive data.

Greater Productivity

Save Screenshots to Work Profile

Employees can save work-related screenshots directly to their Work Profile. This helps workers stay organized and secures data.

This is ideal for companies reluctant to deploy a BYOD plan. It also benefits organizations employing Android Enterprise Management for a COPE deployment model.

Partial Screen Sharing

Workers sharing their screens can share only apps that are required for a particular meeting or session. If the employee switches to another app, a blank screen is displayed (but the sharing session remains active).

Employees will use a personal phone for work purposes if there’s clear separation between personal and work usage. SOTI MobiControl and Android give workers confidence knowing they control what gets shared.

Improved Cross-Profile Experiences

This has two parts. First is the cross-profile app link experience. This gives workers the choice to open in-app links in their Work Profile, their personal profile or the browser. Second is the cross-profile messaging experience. For example, if an employee uses Messages by Google to communicate with work and personal contacts, they can view and send messages without switching profiles.

The time, hassle and frustration associated with clicking between Work Profile and the personal profile is eliminated. Clicks are reduced and productivity gets boosted.

In-App Profile Switching for Google Apps

If your organization uses, for example, Google Calendar™ to schedule meetings, employees can switch between a personal calendar and work calendar by swiping.

The number of clicks and screens users must navigate is drastically reduced. Switching between the Work Profile and personal profile is fast, easy and intuitive.
