Situation

The Inactivity Timeout configuration enables you to configure application behavior when SOTI Hub is idle for a duration defined in minutes.

If the Inactivity Timeout is disabled, the end-user can use the SOTI Hub app without having to frequently type in credentials after a certain amount of time.

From SOTI MobiControl 2024.00 build 1075 to 2024.0.1 build 1020, this SOTI Hub profile can no longer save your Profile if Inactivity Timeout is disabled for Android and iOS devices.

Environment

The devices should be enrolled in SOTI MobiControl as Android Classic, Android Enterprise or iOS.

Process Description

To set a device's inactivity profile:

1. Select Menu > Configurations Profiles.

2. Select New Profile on the upper right-hand side.

3. Select the Android family and select Classic or Work Managed, or iOS.

4, Select Configurations.

5. Select "+" icon.

6. Under SOTI Apps, select SOTI Hub.

7. Under Application Settings, disable Inactivity Timeout.

8. Click Save.

9. At this point, an error will display on the web console and any changes to that profile will not be saved:
ERROR: An error occurred (likely a configuration or package validation error) when creating the profile.
An error message.

10. Enable Inactivity Timeout and increase the Time to a higher value as shown below:

SOTI Hub configuration settings.
Changing the inactivity timeout value to 180 minutes.

Note: Upgrade to SOTI MobiControl 2024.1.0 and above for a resolution.
