Environment
- SOTI MobiControl Agent for macOS
- Devices running macOS 27 or later
Description
macOS 27 introduces changes to how permissions are managed through MDM. The current SOTI MobiControl configuration does not yet use the updated permission management method required by macOS 27.
As a result, Remote Control cannot send keyboard or mouse input to macOS 27+ devices. Remote View continues to function normally.
SOTI is currently investigating a resolution.
SymptomsDuring a Remote Control session, either Web-Based Remote Control or Legacy Remote Control:
- Keyboard input has no effect.
- Scrolling does not work.
- Mouse clicks have no effect.
- Dragging windows or dialog boxes does not work.
The Remote Control session may otherwise appear connected, but interactive input is unavailable.
CauseIn macOS 26.2, Apple deprecated the profile-based permission used to allow remote control applications to inject input events. In macOS 27, this permission method was removed.
SOTI MobiControl currently relies on this permission method. Consequently, the MobiControl Agent is not authorized to send keyboard and mouse input events on macOS 27+ devices.

WorkaroundUse Remote View when interactive control is not required.
No other workaround has been validated at this time.
ResolutionSOTI is transitioning to Declarative Device Management (DDM) for Remote Control permissions on macOS 27 and later.
This article will be updated when a version supporting the new permission management method becomes available.
Recommended ActionsUntil a resolution is available:
- Use Remote View for diagnostics on devices running macOS 27 or later.
- Avoid relying on Remote Control for tasks that require keyboard or mouse interaction.
- Monitor this article for updates regarding the supported Remote Control configuration.
