Script command for activation os updates Solved Locked

Hello everybody, does someone know if there is a script command to forcefully activate os updateson samsung devices (SM-P580)? My problem is that i can't do an os update on my devices. the function is greyed out. I checked all my profiles and there is no restriction for blocking the os update. but when i unenroll my devices the os functionality comes back. so that means thatmobicontrol is blocking somehow my os update on the devices. i thought i could send a command script to forcefully activate the os update... im running mobicontrol version 14.1 and the devices are running android 7/8. they are not enrolled as android enterprise i hope someone knows the command or maybe a fix for my problem

    Zebra OS-Update issue

Hey Guys, I have a very specific Updateproblem with Zebra Devices. Anyway, hopefully someone can help me or got the same issue in the past. We try to Update our Zebra TC20 from OS 04.14.30 Lifeguard 4 to Lifeguard 13. If I do this with adb sideload and a USB Cable everything works fine.  We also done a few Updates remotely with Soti-Command Install_system_update and also with Zebra MX OS Update (http://techdocs.zebra.com/stagenow/3-4/csp/power/) This also worked fine on ~ 100 Devices. But now we get an Error on most of our devices. We got captured this Errormessage: Firstival we thought the OS Update File was not downloaded completly. So we done a few Tests but the Update File has the same size and MDM5-Sum. We also tested to copy the Update-File with Soti Remote Control with the same issue So for us it seems to be some local issue of the Device. Does anyone know if there is any cache limit or something else who could deny our OS Update??? Or is there any chance to force a "clean boot" which resets all the cache of the device? If we try to apply the Update on a fresh installed Device everything works fine. Also a Factory Reset can be applied by every device (same way like the Lifeguard Update) We also checked the File-Permission of the Update-File but it's always -rw-rw---- on working and non working devices. Further we tried to copy the File to /data/tmp/public with the same result. In any Case the Update-File has always the same Size :-( Could there be any File-Lock on the Update-File or has anyone an Idea how we can log this process to find out what happens in this situation? Many thanks so far.

Android OS Updates on Lockdown devices

Hello everybody, we are currently using Samsung Galaxy Tab A SM-T585 devices. SOTI Server is v.14.2.1.4394, Android Plus device Agent is Samsung ELM v13.6.0 After configuring Lockdown mode for those tablets, the users are no longer able to confirm the OS updates on the tablet. From what i have read, it is not possible to force the OS updates from SOTI server side. Is there a possibility to grant the user the right to run OS updates even in Lockdown mode, or is there any other way to ensure that OS updates can be done? Right now we would have to disable Lockdown on the device, run the update and then enable Lockdown again. Regards Robin

Enable OS Upgrade on Samsung Devices

Hi, I'm using SOTI V13 with Android devices (Samsung Xcover) and I would like to enable OS auto-update on all devices. Is there a script to  do it? On most of devices the OS Auto-update field is not checked and a lot of devices can't have the last update of Androïd OS. Many thanks for your help. BR Farid

    Zebra Android OS Update Options

What is your preferred MobiControl driven OS / Firmware update method for Zebra Android devices, and why? I am trying to validate the best deployment strategy given the regular release of Lifeguard updates, sometimes in the 30-50MB range, and the occasional release of full size updates in the 200-300MB range. I am considering multiple aspects including, but not limited to, minimizing impact to the network and minimizing impact to the end users. Do you have users self-serve the update? Do you schedule them to all occur at the same time? Do you preload the update files and then execute the installation separately? Delivery Mechanism Options - File Sync Rule - Package - MX Profile that points to an FTP server or other download location. - Other? Application Mechanism Options - install_system_update as a post install script in the package - install_system_update as a standalone script applied on demand - install_system_update in a script in a package that is applied via a Self-Serve package - MX profile for applying the OS update applied as a package - Zebra custom app for applying OS Updates.  - Other?
