Hello all, we work with mobicontrol on version v13.3.0.3454 I have a lot of device -> Zebra TC75 (android 6 and 7) with the client version v13.3.2 build 1014 it's android + enrollement For some reason, i need to install the keyboard zebra. For this, i have done a rules who execute a mxconfig file -> that's work fine i just schedule the job. I would like to execute this rule when a device is add to a folder. How i can do this ? thanks
Hi, we recently upgraded from v13.4 to v14.3. We have noticed a few problems but the key one seems to be when you try to switch to legacy tabs (rules, server settings, security etc) and secondly menu's i.e. NTP settings you get in chrome repointed to the main all devices page. On IE we get an error saying content cannot be displayed in a frame. I presume, this is a browser setting and pointers would be great! Thanks Tom
Hi all - newbie to SOTI here. I'm trying to move the apps that are currently packaged and deployed to devices to syncing them with the Application Catalog/Google Play store. I'm doing some testing on our dev instance but doesn't seem to be working. The apps (Google Photos and Inkling) show up in the application catalog within Mobicontrol as an available app on the device but will not install. Is there a setting I'm missing? My SOTI-fu is not strong yet so apologies if I missed a previous post that answered this.
Hello, Is It possible to find what was name of enrollments rules deleted and associated by device class name (Rule Tag) in SQL Table ? Thank you.
I am looking for some advice on managing multiple file sync rules. We have a custom application that runs on around 1,500 Zebra MC67 devices. The device has a Settings file and also keeps 9 running log files. Our support team often needs to grab a copy of the Settings file and/or the log files for troubleshooting, etc.... I have created 2 file sync rules so far. One rule grabs the settings.txt file and drops it on a file share, and the other grabs the most recent log file and drops it on a file share in a different directory. Right now I only have the settings.txt file sync rule active, so it's great when a support user needs to grab this for a particular device or group of devices, they can just right-click and choose Sync Files Now and view it from the share. In the spirit of maintaining low data usage on our low Mb data plans, I'd like to be able to run these file sync rules independently of one other. If I enable both of them and someone chose to File Sync, it's always going to grab the log file and the settings file. Is there a way I can selectively manually run one rule or the other? I was thinking/hoping there was a way to call the rule with a script but I haven't been able to find anything. Any ideas are appreciated. Thanks

Anyone facing the same problem?
Hello everybody, We created an Add device rule to automatically assign the tablets that are using this rule to a specific device groupWe set the authentication option to "Utilize directory services to authenticate users during device enrollment".As long as we allow all authenticated users to use this rule, it works fine. But as soon as we enter a specific AD group, no one can use this rule. Not even the users who are member of this specific group. After entering the credentials in MobiControl on the tablet, we get the error message "No registration. Please try again or contact administrator". We tried different AD groups and different users, all with the same behaviour. We are currently using Samsung Galaxy Tab A SM-T585 devices. SOTI Server is v.14.2.1.4394, Android Plus device Agent is Samsung ELM v13.6.0 Any ideas on how to solve this?RegardsRobin
Hi, we are getting error when we try to add google play store apps to an application catalog rule. The error appears after selecting the app in the search results. I have noticed that the version field is not filled in and also the description field contains some encrypted text. Issue happens with any app we tried. My guess is that the system is unable to parse the data from the app store correctly. Eventually the entry gets added after few retries but then I have noticed errors in the DS Log: 2018-07-10 12:12:02,526 (0x00002b20) [ERROR] ServerUtils::CheckIfMandatoryApplicationInstalled() Failed to verify MandatoryApplication version: Device(990004699487892), Expected(net.soti.surf), Got(net.soti.surf14.1.0 Build 58) I do see some errors in the Management Service log that might be related: ********************************************************************* Exception: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. *********************************************************************[TargetInvocationException: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation.] at System.RuntimeMethodHandle.InvokeMethod(Object target, Object[] arguments, Signature sig, Boolean constructor) at System.Reflection.RuntimeMethodInfo.UnsafeInvokeInternal(Object obj, Object[] parameters, Object[] arguments) at System.Reflection.RuntimeMethodInfo.Invoke(Object obj, BindingFlags invokeAttr, Binder binder, Object[] parameters, CultureInfo culture) at Soti.MobiControl.ManagementService.MarketSearchCommunicationService.Details(MarketDetailsRequest request) at Soti.MobiControl.ManagementService.ServiceBase.Soti.MobiControl.ManagementService.Contracts.IMarketSearchCommunicationService.Details(MarketDetailsRequest request) at SyncInvokeDetails(Object , Object[] , Object[] ) at System.ServiceModel.Dispatcher.SyncMethodInvoker.Invoke(Object instance, Object[] inputs, Object[]& outputs) at Soti.MobiControl.ManagementService.ServiceOperationInvoker.Invoke(Object instance, Object[] inputs, Object[]& outputs) at System.ServiceModel.Dispatcher.DispatchOperationRuntime.InvokeBegin(MessageRpc& rpc) at System.ServiceModel.Dispatcher.ImmutableDispatchRuntime.ProcessMessage5(MessageRpc& rpc) at System.ServiceModel.Dispatcher.ImmutableDispatchRuntime.ProcessMessage11(MessageRpc& rpc) at System.ServiceModel.Dispatcher.MessageRpc.Process(Boolean isOperationContextSet) { [NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.] at Soti.MarketSearch.MarketSearchHelper.GetAppInfo(String queryString) } ******************************************************************** ### 2018-07-10 16:25:50.982 WARN [78]: GetInnerText: value is nul or empty. The scenario is duplicating a folder, including all currently applied Profiles & Rules. in order to be able to test out a particular change on a subset of device. I understand this is somewhat possible today by manually assigning the same profiles from the original folder to the new test folder but is there a more automatic way to handle this? Is there otherwise a better method for establishing test groups of devices?
There are seemingly twice as many Device Properties under the Filter Criteria options for Virtual Groups as there are under Profile Assignments. Why is there a disparity between the two? If there was a use case to build out support for a property value in one, then wouldn't the same use case inherently exist in the other? OEMVersion was only just added to the Profile Assignment options in a recent maintenance build for 13.3 despite it being an option for Virtual Groups for quite some time.
