I'm sure previously I was able to send individual website links to a device home screen but it doesn't work now. I did work with support and they don't know how it was possible without Soti Surf. For numerous reasons I don't want to use Soti Surf and catalogs, I want the shortcuts to appear as individual icons on the device homescreen. In the past I was able to create a profile for each shortcut I wanted and could pick and choose from them and assign them to assorted devices as needed, not all as one catalog under the Soti Surf icon. Does anyone know of a way I could do this? I am working with iOS devices on this issue. Thanks! Sue
Hi, our customer needs to add a Zebra Enteprise Browser into lockdown scrren. Zebra provided me the intent to launch and it works correctly if I use ADB. When i launch the intent command, Enterprise Browser is launched with the configured webpage. The ADB command is the follwing: adb shell am start -a com.rho.rhoelements.SHORTCUT_ACTION -c android.intent.category.DEFAULT -n "com.zebra.mdna.enterprisebrowser/com.rhomobile.rhodes.RhodesActivity" -d http://www.google.com -t "com.rho.rhoelements/application" --ei "id" -702889725 How can I use it to add an Home Screen item using SOTI syntax? Thank you very much. Nicolò
HeysanWe have seen one of our clients, also using Soti MobiControl, have added buttons to the lockdown screen. When they press the button, a new page with new buttons or apps opens up. If the press back, it goes back to the main page. Have anyone here had success adding subpages to the lockdown screen, that opens when you press a button on the screen or anything similar? We have a client who could benefit from such a solution. On the main screen they have a standard lockdown profile from the standard template. They have 9 apps but would like a button to access a manuals page, where we add links to open pdfs on the device directly. (using the file command)We don't allow them access to the file manager on the device, which btw is a Zebra TC26.
Hi I have been trying to put up an item on the kiosk screen which will take to a webpage when clicked. When the icon I clicked I want the user to be able to access the particular web page but when clicked on external links the user should be restricted from going there. I have input a web filter allow- en.wikipedia.org block-* I put up a https:// item on the kiosk, it takes me to wikipedia but it also takes me to other websites when clicked on the links, so I assume webfiles does not work on the https:// item. I then tried using the browsers:// item (browsers://en.wikipedia.org) when I click on the link nothing happens. Not sure I have to do enable chrome or something. I would have used soti surf browser but I am unable to install it on this device.
