    MC v15.4 - 0% Finalizing Your Upgrade!

Hello there, well i saw the release of MC 15.4 and wanted to check/test it on my development environment. So i upgraded from the latest 15.3 (15.3.3 - 1065) to the latest 15.4 (15.4 - 4737). configured openjdk run the installer On my first try i wasn't able to get my DS back running. It failed always trying to start the service forthe deployment server. After restoring my snapshot i tried to install it again. Did the same steps. Now the DS was able to start.I was able to easily access the webconsole and everything seemed to work. Then i noticed the notification onthe webconsole that my search services stopped working. So i checked in the admin tool the search service. The admin tool is saying that all my services are OK. I restarted all my services and the server just in case. The admin tool is still showing me that the search service is still fine. So then i thought the config files of the search services are corrupted. So i went to the SOTI folder to renamethe the search folder to search_old and run the installer again to make sure that he configures the search servicenew. That step helped me a lot to fix the search service on many servers. Now i have the problem that i can not login into my webconsole. After the login it gets stuck at an indexing process.See the screenshot below: Any idea how to fix that problem? Or should i restore my snapshot and try to install 15.4 again? EDIT: Tried to uninstall MC 15.4 and reinstall it again. Same result... best regards, Ozan

Devices disapear in sorting, but shown in searching.

Hi guys! Not a big problem, but more of a question why. When I am in the devices overview: Sorting on for example "Agent connect time" works as intended, but if I try to sort on for example "Mac Address" the devices in the overview disapears, and is gone until the sorting is removed. Trying to do this sorting gives the following: "Device information could not be retrieved. The MobiControl Search service is not responding." While if I try to search for that Mac address should contain "xyz.." this will give a proper result. What are the differences between sorting and actual searching? Also if I try to export .csv this is empty, which I guess is some of the same reason that sorting is giving a problem. Br.Anders KvisvikFARA

MobiControl Search Service calls old server Solved Locked

Good morning, we moved out soti from an old server to a better one. Everything is working fine instead of the MobiControl Search Service. The problem ist that the new server "needs" the old server for some reasons. In the elasticsearch.yml we have the following line: discovery.zen.ping.unicast.hosts: ["soti.corp.****.com","50-soti.intern.****.com"] soti.corp.****.com" <- old server  50-soti.intern.****.com <- new server So ... how i can remove the old server from the search service so that only the new one is "called"

MobiControl Search failed - Devices missing and are slowly returned Solved Locked

Hi I do have this on a case whit Soti but wanted to check if any one else have had this issue earlier or maybe some tips on what to check. We did a server update from 14.4.5 to 15.0.2, after this finished we saw no unit's under "View all devices" list. After about 5 minutes we had about 10 devices showing of total 1228 devices. About an hour later this had jumped to show about 570 devices of 1228 and 3 days later it only showed 980 devices of 1228. We now have restored DB and server back to 14.4.5 but issue is still present. This makes me belive issue always has been there but not noticed before the upgrade that now was done. Before downgrade we tried re-build both "data" folder and "Search" folder for MobiControl Search as well as re-install.The "MobiControl Search Sync Interval" shows "Failed" and integrity 100% under server tab. Server mostly contains Windows Mobile devices and a few CE devices that are now going to be swapped whit Android so also a couple of Android devices present for testing. Due to the WM and CE devices as server was installed SHA2 it has been changed to SHA1 for this. Anyone seen a problem whit Search not been able to load devices from DB og slowly loading devices?Any settings that could be wrong or impacting this on comunication whit DB? All test and checks does not indicate anyting to me on this. Best RegardsØystein Stakvik

How is MC Search Index working? Solved Locked

Hi everybody. We just set up our second Management Server next to the existing one. Search Index Service is now running on both of them. We experienced a situation where we couldn't see all of our devices in the device list (only 1.500 out of 4.500). Before this situation we shut down Management-Server 1 (for testing reasons). We then started Management-Server 1 again and 1 minute later we shut down Management-Server 2.After that the device list was not complete. Management-Server 2 had to be restarted for the device list being complete again. A forced Search-Index-Sync via console settings was not successful before. I think this behavior has something to do with the way the Search Indexes are working and communicating with each other. 1) Does anybody know how the sync is working? 2) What happens when we shut down one Management-Server? Regards,Simon

MobiControl Search Service - No Connection Could Be Made Because The Target Machine Actively Refused It Solved

After a reboot this weekend of our 14.0.0 server the Soti MobiControl Search Service no longer starts up on the server. The message that displays is in the screenshot below but it says "No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it 10.1.2.28:9200." The IP Address 10.1.2.28 is the IP of the server hosting all of the server components for Soti. The firewall is off on the server and the Deployment Server, Database, Web Console and Search Service are all hosted on the same server.   I checked netstat and the port 9200 is not in use. I also tried a second restart of the server to see if that would fix it, it didn't. Has anyone had similar issues with the search service? I'm half tempted to try the upgrade to 14.1 to see if that fixes something, but I'm worried I might make it worse.
